We just LOVE the Poppleton books!,

This review is from: Poppleton: Poppleton and Friends (Paperback)
We are 2nd graders at the Anna Merritt Elementary School in Lockport, NY. We have read the Poppleton books with Ms. Fletcher. Our names are Alexandra and George. Our favorite book is Poppleton and Friends. The characters are Poppleton, Husdon, Cherry Sue, and Uncle Bill. Alexandra's favorite part is when Poppleton put on some oil. George's favorite part is when Poppleton played cards. We hope Cynthia Rylant writes many more Poppleton books!

My 5 year old and I loved this book. The 3 stories made us laugh out loud and the pictures are adorable. We will definitely read the other Poppleton books.

I love all the Poppleton story books. They're a ton of fun to read out loud to my pre-schooler, and she adores them, too. I really love that the simple text is witty and amusing, so that I really enjoy reading it. (There are too many tedious, predictable children's books out there!)This one is my favorite of the series. It's sweet how the characters interact, and there are some wonderfully funny bits, such as Poppleton saying "I can be such a pig", when admitting that he has been wearing the same sweater for three days, and characters repeatedly asking Poppleton "Where are your lips?" after they turn outside-in from eating a grapefruit. The illustrations in all the books are lovely - detailed, good color choices and all around charming. For anybody looking for something somewhat similar but with more text per page, I recommend the Gilbert series of books by Diane deGroat.

A great book about friendship,
This review is from: Poppleton: Poppleton and Friends (Paperback)
Poppleton and friends consist of three different stories about friendship. All three stories are interesting and humorous. My favorite one is about the grapefruit. In the story, Poppleton thinks that if he eats grapefruit he will live to be one hundred. Unfortunately, he does not like grapefruit. Read to find out how Hudson's Uncle Bill tells him how he can live to be one hundred. The illustrations are appealing and very humorous to both children and adults.

My eight-year-old is a big fan of Poppleton books. Most of them he checks out from the library. Boy, he sure was excited to receive this book from Santa.
