this story is about a perfect girls life, and how it falls apart. poppy deals with her best friends breakups, her little-bit snobbish, but very caring sister, and her big suspicions of her father cheating on her mother. i couldnt put it down, and it made me want to read the other books in the series. this is a very well written book, and the setting is in present time england.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great, March 29, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Poppy (Fab 5 Series) (Paperback)
"Poppy" is a hilarious book about being a teenager. Poppy, the main character, is "perfect" in every way, but soon her whole world turns upside down, and suddenly her life isn't as perfect as it used to be. Sometimes you just want to kill her superficial sister, Melly, and at times you just want to hug her best friend, Olivia. It's a good book to read if you have some spare time. Overall, I'd say go for it; in the author's special way, she weaves humor with sadness, and it's a good book that demonstrates the stregnth of friendship.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta read this book!, October 22, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Poppy (Fab 5 Series) (Paperback)
I absolutly loved this book. It was about this girl, Poppy, who is in a real life situation. Her world is perfect, nice parents, cool sister, she is even popular with a big house(the works). One day on a bus, she sees her best-friends mom and her dad hugging, that is just the begining part of her perfect world starting to crumble. It turns out that her dad was hugging her best-friends mom because he had to sell his beloved Jag because his business failed. It also turned out they had to sell there house. Then a wonderful thing hapened (you have to read the book) and they got some money to buy a house.

Teenage Reader (Pennsylvania, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Poppy (Fab 5 Series) (Paperback)
When I first bought this book, I didn't expect much. Wow, was I surprised! Any girl between the grades 6-9 should read this book. It's a really nice book about a girl who lives in England and has a perfect life until her dad's business goes downhill. The author shows you how quickly things can fall apart, but that money doesn't always equal happiness. Teenage girls will really love this simple read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poppy pops to the top!, January 8, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Poppy (Fab 5 Series) (Paperback)
Poppy is a great book if you are looking for realistic fiction. It is about a girl named Poppy Field who has it all. She`s pretty, popular, and has the ideal family. She is also very nice. Poppy loves sorting out the problems of her less fortunate friends. It is very fitting for Poppy who is determined to become the country`s youngest advice columnist. Whether Poppy is organizing a dance for the school, dragging her headmaster into the 90`s, or consoling her best friend Livi when her boyfriend dumps her, Poppy can do it all. Some things happen with her family that have never happened before. If you think this looks appetizing for your mind, YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poppy is an incredible book. It has real life senarios and the characters are truly real. The only problem is there are little words that if you dont look up you will get the wrong idea. Sometimes very confussing, but expands your vocabulary. I rate this 5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book is Awesome, March 8, 2002
This review is from: Poppy (Fab 5 Series) (Paperback)
This is a well writen book. Pre-Teen/Younger Teen girls who are anglofiles with LOVE this. The characters are believable, and they have real world problems. It is about Poppy (who is supposedly declared perfect). She gets her way all the time, and she loves her life. She has hardly any troubles, but things just start piling onto her load. This is probably one of my favourite books. I enjoyed reading this, and I give it 5 stars. This book isn't only for the preps!
