This album kicks A$$, give it a shot you won't be disappointed. If you get a chance to see them live, do it, just saw their show at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago and they played an awesome set

Diamond Nights are supposed to be America's answer to The Darkness. The Darkness came out with their record two years ago and they have a second one on the way. Diamond Nights got together a few years in New York City. They are obsessed with 1970s rock. The lead singer sounds a little like Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy. This is cool complex rock music. Songs like "Saturday Fantastic" and "It's a Shokka" are really amazing songs. This is like Fastway meets Iron Maiden dude. Of course there is "The Girl's Attractive" which is catchy as hell. This is the coolest song since the Cars. It's odd but this band does sound like a ton of records from 1978-1983. It's like they were transported by a time machine. They had an EP come out a year ago. This collection is much fuller and more happening. Diamond Nights are were it's at!

Diamond Nights- Rocks !,
This review is from: Popsicle (Audio CD)
Greetings,
I recently read a review of this album in Blender comparing their sound to circa 1987. Really? Interesting comparing this band to Whitesnake? All I can say is get a clue. They sound nothing like most of the "big hair bands" and especially nothing like Whitesnake. This band has a definitive retro 70's sound. Nothing wrong with that. Its done well, and I find several of the tunes to be original. They sneak in "The Girls Attractive" which is a hybrid of 80's synth, 70's guitar, with a touch of Talking Heads type lyrics- and it works- rather well! There is an addictive listening quality to this album- well worth the money !
