This book is one of the best for beginners. It goes into detail on choosing a saw, accessories, and teaching you some basic and advanced techniques, maintaining and troubleshooting. The last 30 pages are seven projects you can work on. Almost 90% of the book goes into the major topics, and the most information is regarding saw techniques and making jigs and fixtures.

But keep in mind this is a beginner's book, nothing too fancy. There are other books for that. I also like Jim Toplin's Table Saw Magic too.

I bought this book for my husband because he checked it out from the library & couldn't stop raving about it. He is so thrilled that I bought it for him. He really loves this book!

this book is good for beginners like me, but it fell apart the day after I got it and needed to pull out the old glue gun. if you are a beginner and want to get started right away I recommend the scroll saw work book, it really does get you started on projects your first time out. this book is good to get a little deeper into understand your machine and the blades and basic cuts. I don't like that you have to enlarge all the projects in this book, and many of the projects require other bench tools that you may not have as well. if you are looking to dive right in and are new, this is not the book, but I think anyone with a scroll saw should have it if you don't know how to maintain your saw, etc

I did some scroll saw work years ago. Recently bought a new saw to get back into it, so I bought this book. It has a lot of very useful information in general, as well as a comparison of various types and models of scroll saws. Well written with good color photos and illustrations.

I got this book to help me learn the usage of a new scroll saw I received for Christmas. I haven't gotten through the entire book as of yet, but I am impressed with the detailed descriptions so far. I've been doing woodworking for 3 decades and thought I could run a scroll saw without a book. I was wrong! This is one of 2 guides I've been reading, just to be certain I'm getting all the info I need. I'm certainly glad I got the Popular Mechanics Scroll Saw Fundamentals book. The other book I purchased is just a training guide with scroll saw cutting exercises. This one has more information.

Scroll sawing takes knowledge and practice. This book fulfils all the ingredients needed to get started in a meaningful way. Not to be missed.

This book takes you thru the basics of using a scroll saw. It has a great section of blade anatomy, types of saws. Good reference book for people who are new to the scroll saw. Written in plain english so everybody can understand.
