Book Description

Love Stories October 9, 2001
From Ebony’s journal:

My identical twin sister and I are total opposites. Meaning, I’m way popular and she’s so not. How is this possible? I’m friendly, flirty, and don’t spend every second buried in a textbook. She’s Miss Mathematics (and Miss Headband–hello?–of Hughley High). But here’s what’s really weird: I’m sweating Mr. Mathematics (he’s new). So if I could just borrow her identity and headband for a few days. . . .

1.0 out of 5 stars Dumb and boring, July 4, 2002

No offense but this book should have never been published. Don't even waste your money. In it you have Ebony and Ivory(twins). Ebony is a popular girl and Ivory is a nerd. Anywayz Ebony starts to crush on a smart guy named Charles. So she asks her sister to switch places with her so she can get to know him better. This story could have been good but it was anything but that. The storyline was interesting enough but wasn't written well. It was boring and unexciting. Usually books transport me to another world. This one couldn't even hope to keep my attention for more than 2 minutes. All it did was leave me thinking you couldnt pay me to read this again

1.0 out of 5 stars The Un-Popular Book, December 14, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Popular One (Love Stories) (Mass Market Paperback)
Hey, when I first saw this book in the store, I thought it looked cool cause I usually look for books with black people on the cover and it had an interesting plot. Then, I read the reviews for this story, and they said the book was bad, but I didn't believe it. Now, I do. This book was horrible. The beginning was long and boring, the ending was short and chopped out, and I got lost in between. There were a lot of questions left unanswered...the Big Think issue..the school play..I mean, I don't even know for sure if these people hooked up in the end! Whatever you do, don't buy this book. This was the worst Love Stories I've ever read. If you wanna read a good one, read Snag Him! or Jake and Christy.

The Popular One was ok but not that good. The best love stories books were How To Kiss A Guy and Hard To Resist.
