The picture of this puzzle tells what it is.It's a plastic ball about the size of a baseball;but much lighter. The description or name "Mind Madness Magnetic Ball Puzzle" puzzles me because there is nothing at all magnetic about it.No magnets whatsoever!.However, you might say that there is a magnetic attraction to it in that as soon as one sees it they will be drawn to it and want to pick it up.It has 12 holes in it,but only 11 colored balls, and all but one hole has a ring around ,the same colors as the balls. One hole has no colored ring. The balls do not come out,but there is a spongy element inside the ball;which allows one to push in a ball and move it to whichever hole is empty. The object of the puzzle is to move the balls around, one at a time until they are mixed up.At that point balls are in holes where their colors do not correspond to the hole's ring. Now the puzzle is to move the balls around until you have each ball in a hole with the same colored ring.
It is easy to manipulate and quite stress relieving and fun to play with.I solved it mainly by trial and error ,but in a short time you realize there is a bit of method to get any ball to a hole .In other words there is a method to the madness of solving.I think this puzzle will entertain people of all ages and it is a puzzle that will stand up to a lot of abuse and very unlikely to break, and no pieces to ge lost.

Disclaimer: I am fond of balls.
That said, this ball is a good size -- it fits in my adult hand comfortably. The holes are large enough to let my fingers in.
Disclaimer 2: I prefer to not attract attention.
The small balls make a wonderful sound when they click into place. Getting them to move without disturbing the TV watchers is a trick.

For a puzzle, there is not much to it. A little bit of planning, and a lot of persistence will do it.

However, for something to do with one's hands, this is a joy. Even without moving the small balls around, it is satisfying to hold this ball, and squeeze the bumps, and dangle it from the empty hole. The small details of the shell are also interesting, and one can ponder what size are the indivual pieces, and where are the glue lines.

My only anxiety is the foam core, which I suspect will turn into crunchy dust after several years -- hopefully many several years.

I thought this would make a great travel toy because it was only one piece... unfortunately it didn't hold the attention of my 6 year old and it was too difficult to manipulate for my 3 year old. Once my 6 year old figured out how it worked she had no interest in playing with it again. I like it for a stress toy so I might put it at my office desk. Concept: You move the colored ball to the same color ring on the base. I had to move the balls around before I gave it to my daughter to play otherwise it would not have been challenging at all. All in all a bust for us!
