5.0 out of 5 stars Population Health Management: Strategies to Improve Outcomes, September 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Population Health Management: Strategies to Improve Outcomes (Hardcover)
This book is a required book for a University class.
It is very well written and the author's opinion is backed by research from several different institutions. This book presents the problem of Disease Management and Population Health Management as a method of trying to control our escalating health care costs and assist the aging population and those with chronic medical problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars thin but packed with what is promised, June 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Population Health Management: Strategies to Improve Outcomes (Hardcover)
This was a required textbook, and honestly after paying 80-something, I expected a bigger heavier text, but this book is well written, with succinct chapters, and it covers everything you need to know about Disease Mgmnt, Population Health, ROI, Wellness programs, how to design and evaluate a program, etc.

3.0 out of 5 stars not a great book, March 20, 2007
This review is from: Population Health Management: Strategies to Improve Outcomes (Hardcover)
I am about half way through the book and I am not impressed. The auther leaves many aspects out and does not even talk about third party administrators which is a large portion of the "Health insurance industry". HIPPA is glossed over like it is no big deal.
It does have it possitives though and will learn something from this book. Fortunately the instructor for this class brings out the better parts.
