Biography

Like the bristly critter of its title, Tim Easton’s album Porcupine has some spikes in its hindquarters. And the Ohio-born, Joshua Tree, California-based singer-songwriter says the primarily aggressive style of the record was definitely by design.

“I wanted to make some noise again,” Easton explains. “I’d been making some sonically conservative albums out here in California, with a little less of… Read more in Amazon's Tim Easton Store

5.0 out of 5 stars MOST IMPROVED PLAYER, November 28, 2009

Along with artists such as Chuck Prophet and Joe Henry, Tim Easton has gone from a decent but somewhat pedestrian songwriter to a first class songsmith that
brings his soul to the proceedings. The album Break Your Mother's Heart was the first of his works that I bought, I don't listen to it much. Ammunition, his next album was a giant step forward in terms of songwriting, more folky than the former with some first rate tunes. Porcupine continues his ascent toward songwriting greatness.
Burgundy Red, the first song on Porcupine, is a statement of intent-it rocks your
sox off as do the songs Porcupine and Get What I Got. Baltimore and Stormy are both
lusty and soulful. Northbound starts out like classic John Fogerty and will stick in your brain.
If you like top-notch folk/roots rock this guy is the most improved player and this
album won't let you down- did I say he has a great weather-worn voice?

5.0 out of 5 stars A stunning masterpiece!, June 26, 2009

My feelings are of an acoustical intonated overload. Beautiful timing and long melodies persist throughout. The necessity to hear this music again seems to be unclear, but wanting. This music is made for headphones or the automobile. The poetry is made for the intellect, but still accessible on a warm morning when you are driving to work. Porcupine is one of the most sincere musical cycles I have heard in years. That's refreshing! Give yourself a pleasant treat, buy it now and listen!

Einsteins Clone thank you for donating your cds to Goodwill I love paying 1 to 2$ at Goodwill stores, Salvation army stores, garage sales book fairs and flea markets it truly is a great way to pick up music cheap, I have amassed a collection of roughly 1200 CDs doing this.

Whenever I get a great CD like this one I always thank people like you who make it possible.
