Biography

Weezer is a popular Californian college-rock band fronted by geeky singer Rivers Cuomo. Their self-titled debut album (identified by its blue cover) was a big hit in 1994 thanks to the two lead singles and their videos. Both directed by Spike Jonze, the videos for “Undone – The Sweater Song” and “Buddy Holly” won regular airplay on MTV and won awards, boosting the band’s profile substantially. 5.0 out of 5 stars ...I'll eat my Weezer with the Pork and Beans..., April 23, 2008
This review is from: Pork And Beans (MP3 Download)
Not too bad, honestly better than any track from the previous effort, "Make Believe".

It's catchy, quirky and undeniably Weezer. A much better choice for the lead-off single than "Beverly Hills" was. Part "Blue", Part "Pinkerton" - But it doesn't end there. They're treading on new ground too. Lines like "I ain't gonna wear the clothes you like / I'm finally dandy with the me inside / One look in the mirror and I'm tickled pink / I don't give a hoot about what you think" indicate the Rivers' may finally be moving on, as a person and coming out of his shell. Which I think is something that Weezer needed to stay relevant in the music scene.

I sit here salivating for more, and that's EXACTLY what a lead-off single should do to the listener. And I really cannot wait for the upcoming album, apparently the members have all taken turns on lead vocals (A first for the band - Pat Wilson takes over the mic on "Automatic"). And there will also be a "Deluxe Edition" featuring 4 bonus tracks.
