The Porn Star Guide to Great Sex (out June 22) is Mr. Marcus' first book and you can tell because the writing is so simplistic. The man even refers to a commonly used writing technique among high schoolers: referring to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary to tell readers what a word means. I'm sure he wanted to back up his info with credible sources, but I think it's perfectly fine if a porn star just defined "clitoris" in his own words. At least the "professional lover" keeps it straight up (with his advice, I mean). Even though at times it felt like the book should've been titled Seducing Mr. Marcus instead, I didn't completely mind his conversational tone and anecdotes. Why? Because at least the book took a different route than many of the others on this list. That said, I'm never wearing crotchless panties. Sorry.

The boyfriend says: It's banal. He switches from first person to second person, which makes me think he didn't write all of it. The funny thing is he says do this, this and this, but he doesn't say listen to her reaction to see if it's working. And I must be a better porn connoisseur than he is because he says anal sex is relatively new within the porn world. Ha! He must not have watched any German porn from the 70's.

"The Porn Star Guide to Great Sex" (June 2010) is Mr. Marcus' 1st Book. I had the great pleasure of having met Mr. Marcus and spending fair amount of time talking this past weekend (July 2010) during the Exxxtacy Porn Convention in Chicago.

I give him thumbs-up for his literary effort, and did enjoy the book which was a breath of fresh air, mixed with a little Porn-star novelty factor! I however felt he did not successfully relate his expert advice very succinctly though. So while he is insanely knowledgeable about sex, mechanics of love making, the emotional/spiritual connections...a lot was lost in translation. Maybe next book He ought not rely so heavily on his personal experiences as a professional working with other professionals in the adult-film industry, but collect more data/statistics from every-day men & women who are not in the trade; then compile his experiences/advise into those contexts more thoroughly.

If you have ever watched his films, he is a beautiful performer. In person- He has a very straight-forward gentle witty demeanor...which is also how he wrote this book. His "Real Talk" tone in his explanations made it an easy to understand and quick read, although occasionally banal and trite. I felt more needed to be said to the realistic expectations of anal sex. He never addressed the fact that a large percentage of women can not achieve orgasms via intercourse, and did not offer advice on how to creatively work her "O" factor in. Also he completely neglected to mention Dental Dams in the Safe-Sex chapter...but instead only listed plastic wrap as an option for safety barrier when performing vaginal oral-sex|analingus.

It is written to an audience as a good start-up read if they are looking to become more sex-positive. Enjoy.

Mr. Marcus is not your first choice if you are looking for literature inspiration from this book. He is not a great writer. Mr. Marcus' strength lies in his knowledge about sex. The positions in this book make me want to expand my horizons and the best thing about this book is that Mr. Marcus presents sex as an activity that should be pleasurable for people. We all know women have a great amount of respect for men who know how to hit it right and this book helps you learn how to have great sex.

It wasn't a bad read although I thought it was going to be better. It was basically things that I already knew. I may have picked up a pointer or two but I thought it would be more informative.

Think about who else can give better sex

advice than a porn star himwself

since he makes a living off of making them movies

hey i recieved my book today and i've been reading all day shouts to Mr. Marcus on this one. The book is excellent no flaws

If you're looking for detailed tips on how to do lots of sexual things, this is a good book. My partner bought it for us and I looked through it. I think a lot of information is missing from it though that as a woman I feel I need for better sex. So my partner likes this book the best and I like Because It Feels Good (which is a sex guide by a woman, for a woman) the best. Together, the two books make for a better sex life for us both! I can't complain.

I love this book and will go back to some of the sections over and over again. I'm the author of the erotic romance Her Husband Made Her Do Him. I'm now working on a sequel to that novel, so one of the reasons I read this book is to create even hotter sexual action in my book. I feel well equipped. Mr. Marcus gives detailed instructions on different sexual positions, techniques, and everything imaginable to add heat to your sex life. No matter your level of sexual experience, there is something to be learned by everyone here.

I especially enjoy the way he lets us in on his personal experiences both on and off the set. That made the text even more enjoyable, and it's what I hoped to get when purchasing this book. I also like his writing style. His tone is relaxed and conversational, never uptight or fussy.

The book is well, put together it's a MUST have book to all the kewl brotha's out there ! Just remember abt the "SAFE SEX" people peace to all.
