The quick rundown of this is that it's a work where porns stars speak about the pets they own. The larger issue is that porn stars are assumed to be irresponsible, self-centered, and possibly drug-addicted. Thus their ability to care for anyone or anything gets called into question. Here you can see that they have hearts and can be good pet owners.

The work had a diverse array of pets. One animal I didn't think live outside of the tropics and could be domesticated. The porn stars are diverse in terms of gender, age, and race. Still, I don't think I saw any rainbow-flag men here and they should have been included in order to be well-rounded. Yes, there's Ron Jeremy here, but for the most parts, the older interviewees were sex workers, but not in front of the screen. It would have been nice to see a Jay Crew or Nina Hartley here.

This weekend I saw an episode of MSNBC's "Lockup Raw" in which male inmates cared for cats permitted and restricted from the prisons. Yes, the show was made years after this DVD, but it has similar themes. In the way that everyday folk may assume that inmates are too anti-social to care for another living being, the same is assumed of porn stars. It's just not true. Parents can kill a mouse in a mousetrap and still be sad when their child's pet mouse dies. Being a stigmatized person doesn't mean one can't care for others. But aside, some adults who don't have children ofte "parent" pets. The porn stars here don't mention whether they don't have children, but the absence of the young ones suggests it. These childless adults are just treating pets with the devotion that most adults apply to their offspring.

There is brief nudity there. And of coures, there's no human-animal mixing. Duh! Still, this is not just random folk talking about pets. These actors do mention the porn biz from time to time. Several women mention flying with pets often. That surprises me as I thought the business was in SoCal and locations were mostly within driving distance of the stars. One woman spoke of the costs of having a pet and if a porn career could cover it.

Yes, the work does get tired by the end. However, this was a novel enough DVD. I think porn's fans and detractors could easily be amused by it.
