Book Description

June 30, 2000
The village along the Amazon river in Brazil where missionaries Paul and John Schlener and their families lived and worked was named for them: The Port of Two Brothers. How God led these two families to that spot on the map, how he spared their lives in incredible and sometimes amusing adventures, and how he used them to draw hundreds of indigenous people to himself are recorded in Port of Two Brothers. Contains four photo sections.

5.0 out of 5 stars I read and lived the book..., December 17, 2000
By

This review is from: Port of Two Brothers (English and Bengali Edition) (Paperback)
My father wrote this book lest we not fully understand the purpose of his work. By reading this book I was able to grasp the true meaning of life's deepest spiritual fulfillment which enables me to cope with all the inconsistencies and insecurities that I encounter -wether it be in a remote jungle or the busy streets of a modern city. I recommend this book not only for the pleasure of my father's loving humor, but also for its' everlasting repercussions.

5.0 out of 5 stars REMARKABLE! True life adventure, December 15, 2000
This review is from: Port of Two Brothers (English and Bengali Edition) (Paperback)
Wow! An amazing recount of actual experiences of life in the Amazon! Capitivating and a truly remarkable story! Very good for those who like reading of true life adventures. Easy to read but not easy to put down! So glad Mr. Schlener shared his experiences with the rest of us! All too often we take for granted our luxuries of esstentials, like, electricity, bathroom facilities, and cooking accessories! Everyone in the U.S.A should read this book! What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful family.
