Buy the Belkin or Dlink version,
This review is from: 4 Port USB 2.0 Wireless Hub - Compatible with Windows XP and Vista not Windows 7 (Personal Computers)
These new UWB hubs are great, but this one is based on the old technology. You have to be carefull to get the right version. Compare the OS support. The new technology hubs support both Vista and XP now, not "someday". Belkin 302 and the Dlink 9240 work better. (Belkin 301 is the old stuff too)

Product worked as promised. Installation was extremely easy. Install the driver, install the wireless configuration software, connect the hub with a wire for the initialize configuration of the wireless hub, and you are done. You are now wire-free. The hub is immediately detected. Plug a device into the hub and the device is automatically detected. I plugged an uncommon piece of USB equipment, a blood pressure monitor, and still it was recognized. This suggests to me that this wireless hub is indeed a replacement for the cable.
The range unfortunately was too short for me. There is a metal cabinet in the room and the wireless hub has to be located on top of the cabinet. At maybe 15-20ft, I was getting intermitten connections. Your mileage will vary based on the amount of interference/barriers in your environment.

Range too short, too unreliable,
This review is from: 4 Port USB 2.0 Wireless Hub - Compatible with Windows XP and Vista not Windows 7 (Personal Computers)
Save your money. This is not worth it. Range is only about 5 feet. It does not recognize all types of USB units, something the literature neglects to mention. The connection drops if I even pass my hand between the dungel and the unit. Does not recognize the hub, the next time I bring the laptop home and plug in the required dungle. Must re-establish contact with awire first. Worse, company will not work with me to resolve problems. Service support is not even a single star. They are only open during normal business week. No help here. Save your money.

The product USB HUB works well, I can even watch movies in my external drives anywhere in the room, but that's as far as it can go.
The software is very annoying, you have to install a driver, and somehow, sometimes when I plug a USB cable directly to my laptop the HUB would itself get disconnected, and I would have to reconnect everything. Once you get used to it, I think you will find it very helpful and very convenient.

This hub and adapter works great. I haven't seen any issues that others have described. I downloaded the newest drivers and they work perfectly. I've been waiting for a product like this for a long time. It seems to have better throughput than the wifi usb hubs. I use it to move my printer off of my crowded desk.

When I attempted to install the software and drivers one of the menus had the "NEXT" button outside the box and it would not scroll. I went to the support page and submitted a help request. I got an email answer two days later and it said to change my screen resolution which I had already tried without success. In the meantime I had just hit "TAB" then "ENTER" to get by that problem. Once it was installed it worked well until I turned my laptop such that the screen was between the USB antenna on the laptop and the hub. They are about 6' apart but the reception is spotty and intermittent. I moved the hub to a location where the screen is not between them and it seems better. When it is working it is fast and reliable, but the range is not as good as I had expected.

This thing works fine, but my whole reason was to purchase it for my vista 64-bit. It work okay on my window xp and vista 32-bit, but not on my 64-bit. But I guessing I would have to wait for the 64-bit driver to come out. Am kind of pressuring them to release the 64-bit driver because if a device is not compatitable with different OS, they won't earn a business.
It's kind of hard to get this thing to work correctly at first, but anyway, i did it. I have to install three software from the official site. First and Third step, go to the official site and search for the exact driver. First install the driver 'GUWA100U' for the adapter. Now Uninstall it through control panel. When it ask you which do you want to remove; remove the associate files with it. "Do Not remove Certify USB driver" Second install the driver from the CD that come with it. Restart Computer. Third install the driver 'GUWH104' for the USB HUB. Now you are ready to use your wireless. Run the program, and follow direction. It should work. If not, repeat steps. Or it could be that you have the same OS as me.

Great idea, but it doesn't work. If the thing is more than six inches away from the communication dongle, the comm strength is too low to work. So what's the point?? I tried everything including shutting down other devices in hopes that it was lagging due to interference, but alas, it wasn't interference, it is just a sucky gadget that you shouldn't waste your money on.

No Windows 7 Drivers/ Do Not Buy,
This review is from: 4 Port USB 2.0 Wireless Hub - Compatible with Windows XP and Vista not Windows 7 (Personal Computers)
I purchased and used this system successfully for over a year on Dell Desktop and Toshiba laptop with Windows XP and Windows Vista. It set up with no problems. If I disconnected the doggle from the USB when not using the hub, it took some patience to reconnect it if I wanted to print. But again with minimal problems. I would have given it 4-5 stars a month ago.
Then with out much thought or investigation, I updated both machines to Windows 7 and discovered that Iogear doesn't offer a driver that supports Windows 7 64 bit or 32. I checked with Tech Support. They couldn't tell me when or if a driver will become available, only that within IOgear it's not on the radar.

Don't waste your time or money.,
This review is from: 4 Port USB 2.0 Wireless Hub - Compatible with Windows XP and Vista not Windows 7 (Personal Computers)
Installed onto a Vista Ultimate machine. Caused a bluescreen on initial install, unsigned drivers, multiple reboots required. Range is horrible - even with clear line of sight, I can't get connectivity to work beyond 6-7 feet from the adapter. Doesn't work with IR Remote for Windows Media Center, which is what I bought it for. No response from email to support. All in all, a horrible useless product.
