I purchased this blacklight and was sorely disappointed. It is VERY cheaply made... like it was created from a kit by a grade schooler for a science project. The batteries do not fit unless you take it apart and eventually the machine screw you have to pull out to do this will wear the plastic to the point where it doesn't hold any more. The unit I received had to have a wire soldered on to work properly.

I found a MUCH nicer unit by Chauvet for the same price. It is equally as powerful and doesn't fall apart.

This is the biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased through Amazon. Never could get the thing to work and battery compartment is a joke. Finally got upset and threw in the trash. Pass on this unless you collect junk.

Black Lights: Portable Handheld 6 Inch Single

Receive product, could tell it was cheap as soon as I got it out of the box. Installed batteries... began smoking! Tried to removed batteries and the whole thing literally fell apart in my hands... nothing left but pieces of junk plastic and components (burnt components).

Fortunately the place I bought this from refunded my money. The battery door just will NOT close. One of the little tabs snapped off the first one, so they sent me another door, and I was being ever so careful and not forcing it...and the same tab broke off the new door as well. I just sent the whole thing back to them, and they credited my paypal. It was extremely cheaply made. Spend a little more and get a better product.

I would have rated it a zero, except Amazon won't let you.....

I have used this black light to find and hunt down scorpions. Many of you may not know this but scorpions light up under the influence of a black light and give off this glowing white green color. They are very bright and unmistakable ehn illuminated with a black light. We had an infestation around our house. With the aid of the black light, I was able to find and eliminate 64 scorpions in two weeks. With two little kids, I cannot afford to let them get stung. If you live in the southwest, you need to get one of these, and make an inspection of your house and property at night. You may be unpleasantly surprised what you find.

We took a chance even though other reviewers said the batteries didn't fit. I assumed they'd be too loose, a common flashlight problem and easy to fix. But the battery cover can't fit with the batteries installed. We tried to squeeze the springs, file down the extra-tall flashing/posts holding the contact, then broke off the tabs (the first snapped accidentally, the second we broke off) and still it couldn't shut all the way. Finally held it down nearly flat and duct taped it like mad hoping it'll hold. The light itself is nice, but it's really worth spending $20 for a decently made one. This is just frustratingly badly made.
