4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good - Your Getting What You Pay For
Price is great! So is the lower power consumption, quiet operation and long bulb life.
Not too many options pretty basic. Hooked it up my surround sound system and played a dvd on it worked well although the sound isn't built for any large rooms hence the surround sound system I used made it good. Picture quality is in fact dull but there is no control to brighten...

I liked the price of course and I was attracted to the LED feature with it's lower power consumption, quiet opperation and long bulb life. The Problem are that this unit is so stripped down in regards to features you wonte be able to use it with very much versatility. I bought one specifically to hook up to a laptop and project the computer image.............Nope. It don't do that. I did hook up an old VCR just to make sure it worked. It does work but not very well. Picture quality is dull and not very vivid at all. There is also an annoying pattern that is visable and reminds me of the dot pattern you see when you look at a magazine photo through a magnifying glass. I desperatly want to brighten up the picture but there is no control for that. All and all I think I can say that I don't think I'll get much use out of this unit. The concept is good but that's about as far as it goes. The picture is simply not clean enough for anyone who is trying to duplicate a television quality image in a larger version........ How do I send this thing back?

Price is great! So is the lower power consumption, quiet operation and long bulb life.
Not too many options pretty basic. Hooked it up my surround sound system and played a dvd on it worked well although the sound isn't built for any large rooms hence the surround sound system I used made it good. Picture quality is in fact dull but there is no control to brighten up the picture, as i said there aren't many options or features. The picture is ok it has like this dot look to it but not too bad i enjoyed the movie on it and would use it to watch most movies to get that theater type of look even if its not exactly like the theater.

Overall - I think you are getting what you paid for...it is easy to use small and compact but with that you dont get many options and cant expect it run like a bigger model. The price is low and so is the quality of the picture but for what its worth Id give it 4 out of 5. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the price..., December 9, 2009

I purchased this projector when it was on sale for $99.00. As others have noted, the projected image does have a "dot look" to it, but for the price, I was not expecting much. The room does need to be dark for best results--we just keep a night light on to see to switch video games, etc. We use the projector for TV, DVDs and video games. It has decent sound, but we hooked it up to our surround sound instead. The text on television and most video games (such as Wii Animal Crossing) shows up fine, but we have noticed that Wii Guitar Hero is a little fuzzy to read, and Wii EA Sports Active is very hard to read. The better the graphics, the clearer the text. Something to aware of, though, if you were wanting to use a ceiling mount, is the fact that you cannot flip the projector upside down and screw bolts into the bottom of it like you can with other projectors. There are no bolt holes in the bottom, and you can't flip the image on the projector. You can basically only adjust the focus and volume, so it doesn't have a lot of features, but for us, it has been so much fun and worth the price we paid.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Collegiate Ideal, April 23, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Portable Mini Audio/Video 13 Lumens LED Light Projector with 150:1 Contrast Ratio and Built-In Stereo Speakers (Electronics)
Owned it for a couple months and I'm already looking for a replacement. It works great if you have low expectations, but for hosting guests and movie nights it's not so good. The surrounding room MUST be completely dark, and I mean completely dark. In a dorm room, we had to cover the light coming through the crack around the door with a towel just to make it darker. The screen is adjustable so you can effectively watch movies between 18 inches away and about ten feet away without too much screen door effect. At around ten feet away, though, the display becomes blurred, dim, and the screen door effect begins to diminish the quality of your video. The bright side? The slightly lower quality of the video means you dont notice much quality difference when projecting on white brick walls, thick white sheets, or on the ceiling, all common projector spots for dorm rooms. The price, however, simply cannot be beat. Under $200 for thousands of hours of bulb life, extremely portable, lightweight and relatively durable construction, ergonomically friendly, easy to hook up, and very simple to use. Above all, I'm looking for a new projector only because I know I can resell this one for a great price. As I've noticed, this particular projector type does not depreciate nearly as fast as others - mainly because of the bulb life and basic hookup cord type. Don't expect theater quality picture, but if you're on a budget, as most college students are, you'll find your needs are well met in this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not recommended, September 11, 2009

I bought exactly the same projector directly from where they are made: in Taiwan (so it is NOT from Amazon). You cannot connect this to computers since it only has audio/video connection (yellow video + audio red and white; typical RCA). Also, you clearly see the beehive pattern on the wall or screen (very average quality but it is cheap, so..) I used to watch 4 movies then the problem occurred: when I switch it on, it is alright (LEDS are bright) then after 1 second or 2, the lamp goes very low (to an extent that no projection is possible!). Since it was still covered by the warranty, I contacted the seller (plumbargains, some say he's back in business with another name: beware!) but he refused to fix it or give me another one. I thought the small fan in it had stopped to run, but it still works. I don't know where I can find someone able to fix the device. If you know or if you have smart tricks, please send me a message: [...]

1.0 out of 5 stars Mini-Projector, April 9, 2009

The mini-projector was not suited for what we needed. It appeared that it would be suitable to function with a laptop. This was not the case. The image wavered and was not very clear. Fortunately, the seller allowed us to return it but we still lost 40.00 due to a restocking fee despite the fact that we attempted to contact the vendor within 24 hours of receiving the product. We will probably not use Amazon for anymore electronic purchases.

HORRIBLE product the screen looks like something made back in the 1800's you can seriously see squares when you project it. no matter how close or how far you are from the screen it has a horrible picture.

This did not work when I took it out of the box. The screen flashes. I can't return it as the window has expired and now I am stuck with a broken projector. Also, there is no way to run a power point presentation using this projector.

Blurry and does not project well after a certain distance. But works well enough for gaming and keeping kids entertained.
