I thought this would be a stronger hoop than the fisher price ones, but I was wrong. The backboard is made of really thin cheap plastic that cracks very easily. The pump to blow up the basketball is also cheaply made and broke after a couple of uses. The small basketball that came with this set also needed air every day. I purchased this for my 3 year old and it only lasted one month.

I have a 5 and 6 year old that love this goal. I like it because it is sturdy, a larger rim, and works well with a jr size basketball.

This was a gift for my grandson's sixth birthday - it is the perfect size and he is having a great time with it - nice and sturdy - very happy with purchase.

Spalding always manufactures quality sports' equipment and this smaller standard is no exception. However be careful when assembling the upright poles (3) to insure that later you can adjust the height of the backboard. The instructions were a bit confusing and one important step was over looked by me when assembling. The adjustment holes need to be facing FORWARD and not sideways (as I did) resulting in me having to manually drill holes to adjust the basket's height. In re-reading the instructions I saw where I made my error, but the instructions were not clear as to which way those holes needed to be facing. If I ever assemble one again for another grandchild I will know the trick and not make the same mistake twice, but it is a GOOD product. It is sturdy, well connected, easy to assemble (with above note) and easy to move.

I will buy another one in the near future.

My son is eight and he uses a youth size ball and this hoop already has had the backboard replaced once due to it being so thin and cracking and guess what... the second onecracked now too! Just from him shooting within 20 ft! I cant stress how much of a cheap basketball goal this is! In three months this this thing is ready for curbside pickup... dont waste your money!

We were looking for a cheap basketball hoop for our backyard. The main pole for this hoop comes in three pieces, allowing the middle piece to be removed to lower the hoop considerably.

We currently have it setup at eye level for our three year old, but while assembling the hoop I had it set just above my head. That's a pretty good range.

The components are pretty basic and it wouldn't work well for older kids who play harder basketball. This should see kids from two years up to probably 11 or 12. Its certainly better for the kids than our Little Tykes hoop that fell apart much more easily. Instead the kids really like this hoop.

This is a great mid-sized hoop for the money. We purchased it for our 4-year old and we feel like it will grow with him. He is fairly tall for his age and we have it on the lowest setting. There is still a lot of room for him to grow into it, so we are hoping to have it for quite a few years to come. The quality is quite good for the price and I think it will hold up nicely. I think it took my husband 20 minutes to put it together (by himself). Perfect for our backyard patio!

I saw a few of the reviews and was a little wary of the product that I might receive. I was happy to get what I did. The product was easy to put together - it recommends 2 people, but I did it myself. It is adjustable and durable. At the time we got it my youngest turned 3 and my oldest was 6, almost 7. We have now had it a year and haven't had an issue. They have played with it a lot. The junior size ball is NOT hard to find (Wal-Mart). It has been through a lot and has held up great. I have even caught my eldest swinging from it. I expect it to last a few more years and I am happy with this product.

I have a 5 year old as well as a 3 year old, and the intent was to set this up in the basement. After assembly, I found the hoop to be very sturdy. The rim is now set up at 6 feet (since it's indoors) but it can easily go to 6.5 feet. Just keep in mind that a size 3 junior basketball is ideal for this hoop, which is an ideal basketball size for ages 3-5.

I strongly recommend using sand instead of water for filling the base, which has to be done to stabilize the hoop. But that's the case with most basketball hoops that come with a plastic base.

All in all I'm very happy with it.

My 4 year old son got this as a Christmas present from his Aunt. Three months later during a mild storm the backboard completely broke off. The company would not replace the backboard because it was due to an "act of nature"... Not many other ways for an outside basketball hoop to be harmed, is there? My son is heartbroken! Don't waste your time or money on this product!
