I work from home and desperately want to be able to bring my laptop outside this summer and work from the comfort of my patio but as we all know, sunlight and laptop screens do not mix. I scoured the internet looking for something to shade my screen and finally settled on this product mainly because it was one of the cheaper options and low and behold the cheaper one WORKS!!! It blocks out the sun from every angle (except dead on of course) and I can see my screen! It suits my needs perfectly and I love that it collapses for easy storing in a little round case. Thumbs up!

The picture says it all. Notice the glares from the indoor lighting reflecting off of the iphone and the macbook pro's aluminum case? Yet no glare coming from the Macbook Pro's 17" LCD screen.

In a nutshell, I can't leave home without my new laptop shade. Great product for photographers who works outdoor. This product is also ideal for graphic designers who want to reduce glaring caused by indoor lighting or those who prefer a little privacy at work.

This shade works even better than the 3M privacy or anti- glare screen protector with a price tag of $139. Comes with a store away carrying case that fits perfectly in my Lowepro day trekker camera backpack.

Great product, able to layout in the sun and still do my school work. I love it.

This helps block out about 60% of the surrounding and back light that makes you want to kill a sunny day when outside with your laptop. It doesn't block ALL light - you have to throw the beach towel over your head to get that - okay... but it helps. BUT not on
a windy day! I actually tape mine to the laptop so the wind won't blow it off ... NOT okay. Opening it up - well, look out, you might lose an eye! It opens so fast (this is not a bad thing) but closing / folding it up is a challenge I think only women can really do with style.. ha ha - you have to grab this and then grab that and then quickly twist it this way and QUICK fold!!!!!!!! Whew. Did anyone get hurt? Kind of like a man in the kitchen ~ just give the job to a woman and stand back. We're good at MAKING IT FIT. Just ask your kids. ^^

Contrary to some of the reviews, mine contained both instructions and the Velcro strap for attachment to the laptop. I use mine for photography outdoors with with an EyeFi card for wireless tethering. Inexpensive, works as advertised, what more could you want.

A complete waste of money. I bought this item for a 15" macbook pro. The instructions are poor, the velcro strap did not work. I ended up throwing it in the trash.

Looks cool, doesn't fit as you expect . It moves and gets loose.
Not good... but at lease will help.

I received this for my 17" Macbook Pro. Pretty near.

It has velcro on all sides - so I can attach it.

NO STRAPS CAME IN THE ENVELOPE. Nothing.

How am I supposed to attach this thing without the straps?

The screen is not big enough to reduce the glare on a bright day. It won't fit my wife's 17" laptop, and does a poor job with my 15". Invest in a better option if you need to use your computer outdoors on a sunny day.

I regret this purchase. It does not allow me to use my laptop outdoors as advertised. The item does not fit securely to my laptop, prevents access to the keyboard, and does more to hinder than to help. The screen is still too washed out with the product placed around the screen. My suggestion, and what I now do, is to place a towel or sheet over your head and your laptop screen, tenting you both underneath the cover. You will see your screen better and have full access to your keyboard.
