Wanted truly portable speakers for 1st Gen iTouch. Did not expect theater sound. I wanted sound for my youtube and home videos to share them easily anywhere. GREAT product, very cleverly engineered. Would buy another and recommend. Wish there had been more "instructions" about how to open the speakers for the "wide" view, for example. And I did figure it out!

I have a iPod Touch 1st generation and was looking for a portable speaker. This was perfect for my office and it also has a audio-jack if you want to use your headphone instead. Also, it has a built in rechargeable battery and does not use the battery power from my iPod. This has two speaker options; For vertical viewing / listening, just swing the speaker. For wide-screen viewing, just press down the button on the back and the speaker works as a stand & just sit back and watch the movie! All this for less than $ 30? What a deal!

By the time i ordered it i couldn't wait to get it. when it finally came it worked out perfect. it had nice clear speakers and played music loud and crisp. it locks the ipod in there pretty well. although the plastic is a little low quality. now here is what angered me the first time i turned it off and tried to turn it back on the speaker part start to feel as if it would burn me and ever since it wont turn on. so i am going to send it back and hopefully it was just bad luck. the new one they better send me will hopefully work like a charm.

After much searching, I was glad to finally find a speaker for my iPod Touch that I could carry along on a daily basis. The product is a great value, as it functions as both a speaker and a protective case. Other neat features are the swivel-out stand (the Touch looks great on a desk) and the rechargeable battery. The only reasons that it doesn't get five stars are the sound quality, which is a little less than what I expected (and I didn't expect a lot), and the quality of the plastic. Still, this is by far the best-designed carry-along speaker available for the Touch and I highly recommend it.

My son was looking for little speakers for his touch and this is such a nice setup with the hard case and speakers attached - this was a birthday gift after he saw it at amazon.com. I think the sound with the speakers is excellent for their size and I like that the case doubles as a stand. The only downside might be that it makes the ipod a bit heavy - but it is so light to begin with that it is hard to complain. Most of the time when you use it I would guess you aren't carrying it around. I was also impressed with the speedy shipping from Cyanics. I ordered it on Weds. morning and it came Friday - from across the country. And this was just their regular shipping.

I purchased this unit a little over five months ago. I am happy with the sound and the function. When it arrived, there were connection issues with the unit set to "auto" but it worked fine using "on" and "off", so I didn't worry. Today the switch would not work at all. Upon investigation it was obvious that there was a failure of the middle snap closure on the switch side of the back case, which allowed the switch plate to float free of the switch, unless the whole unit is pressed together. I can work the switch with a small screw driver, but the unit is already past the ninety day warranty. I have treated the unit with reasonable care, not subjecting it to undue force, so my conclusion is that the plastic is either of insufficient quality or there was a defect in manufacturing. I will see if I can make due with tape to hold the unit together, and a small blade to turn it on and off. I would caution against buying one, but it is a very good idea that I wish was manufactured to a little higher quality. But for less than $30 it may be worth the risk to you.

After I posted my review, Cyanics contacted me via email with an offer to replace the unit, no questions asked, even though it was out of warranty by almost two months. I received the new unit today. With that kind of customer service I would rate the whole experience five stars. I really like this design, and am pleased with the new unit. I will let you know if there are any further problems.

What a sweet accessory! I love the versatility and ease of use. My son went nuts over it and in fact is introducing it to everyone he knows. He thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I like the simple design and nice sound for such a small speaker ... very impressive! Being able to switch back and forth from normal to wide viewing is a nice feature and it seems to stay charged up all day which will be very nice for as much as he will use it. Definitely a worthwhile investment for any iPod Touch users you know. Some iPod users have even been known to dole out a really nice smile and hug for introducing them to it's existance.

This is a great speaker and protective case for the iPod Touch. I have all of my son's movies and shows on the Touch, but he's too young to wear headphones. Using this device gives the Touch what it's lacking (sound :)) and makes the combined result better than a portable DVD player. It fits right in my purse, so whenever my son is restless (at a restaurant for example) he has something to keep his attention. The switch broke after three months of rough use, but I'd much rather replace this than the expensive Touch.

When i first used this it overheated so i had to let it cool down. other than that its pretty good. the sound quality is nice and its simple to operate.
