Rio Portable Cabana Shelter,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Portable Sun Shelter beach Tent Cabana SPF 50 w/ carry bag (Misc.)
Used this recently on a beach in the Caribbean. It was great. Fit nicely in beach bag and wasn't heavy to haul around. Easy to setup and take down. We were using beach lounge chairs so we didn't stake it down since the chairs were heavy enough to keep it from blowing away. The cabana saved us from getting burned.

Simple set up(best done off the beach if it is windy). I was surprised by the amount of room inside the cabana. Great for getting the grand children out of the sun. I don't think the item's description indicated there is a floor but there is. My only complaint is the ground stakes need to be longer to hold the cabana in sand. I bought some of those at Wal-Mart.

rio beach shade tent is no fun,

I don't see why this thing gets great reviews. I used this tent two times at the beaches in Northwest Indiana and Ohio street beach in Chicago. Both days were very hot and windy. It was just the most miserable thing to try to set this tent up in the wind. It just kept getting blown over, even after it was set up. Look at its design, it just wouldn't withstand any sort of wind. The tent poles just kept popping right out of the tent loops, as there are no eye bolt type of anchors like a regular tent would have to hold the poles to the fabric loops. Also, the floor is plastic tarp material, meaning that sand is really attracted to it, and does not want to brush off at all! So on a hot, windy day, It was awful fighting this thing and laying on its sandy floor. I sold it off on ebay cheap to the next unsuspecting soul. The guy didn't leave any feedback, so I guess that's the amount of satisfaction he had! It may work for some folks, but not me. Chicago is too windy for this tacky thing. Don't bother buying it, research the net and get something more functional for the wind and beach.

Works great. But be careful setting it up on windy days. I pushed the rod through the matial the first time I was setting it up (with no real effort)... It is VERY THIN. I have used it twice and am looking too upgrade to the Eureka!® Solar Shade.

Lightweight, portable, easy to set up,
This review is from: Portable Sun Shelter beach Tent Cabana SPF 50 w/ carry bag (Misc.)
We've used this for a few years now. It's come in handy. Portable, lightweight, easy to set up. Just be careful in crowds, because those poles are long and you don't want to stick anyone with them. Both my young children plus my husband and I can fit in the shade of the shelter to watch the annual Fourth of July parade. My only wish is that it has more vents lower to the ground that are larger. The shelter provides plenty of shade, but it also blocks the breeze, so it sometimes feels hotter inside, even with the two windows open. The shelter has taken a beating and it's still with us. Quite durable.
________________ UPDATE: This shade still works very well. It's a little cumbersome to set up compared to an umbrella and the lack of a breeze in 100+ degrees sometimes makes it unappealing.

This sun shelter worked well for us. Don't know how long it will last, but it was really handy for our vacation, and small enough to pack into a suitcase. Sturdy enough for typical Florida beach weather. Enough space for three of us not using chairs.

I bought this to use while outside anytime for an extended period, as I am very fair. It is a great little cabana, but it could be a little bit taller. It is really designed for the beach, and for you to be sitting on or near the ground. If this is what you are looking for, then it will work out well for you.
It is easy to put up and take down, and fast too! Overall, it is great, but not outstanding.

Rio Sun Hut--Excellent Buy for the $$,
This review is from: Portable Sun Shelter beach Tent Cabana SPF 50 w/ carry bag (Misc.)
We bought the Rio Hut for an August trip to Panama City Beach Fl. I have a 2 year old that didn't need a bad sunburn. The hut proved to be an EXCELLENT buy. I didn't even open the package until I got down on the beach, and I found the instructions on assembly very easy to follow. After the first time it only takes about 5 min. to set the tent up. I did purchase extra tent stakes at Walmart before our trip, and I took a rubber head hammer with me. I suggest you do the same as the wind on most beaches can get pretty high. Another suggestion would be to face the tent perpendicular to the water and when you finish staking the tent, push sand up to the sides(on back). This way no wind will be able to get under the tent. This tent also has a floor in it, which we loved. I posted a pic. of the tent (with my Dad sleeping in it), he stayed in it more than my 2yo. Basically if you are thinking about purchasing this and are worried about the quality because the price is so low--don't worry!!! The tent is well-made and the fabric and poles are sturdy.

Don't bother with this product. It was a last minute buy for us and it only lasted two trips to the beach. On the second time assembling it, the wind blew and a pole snapped in half. There have got to be better products on the market than this one. Cross it off your list.

It is a very big Cabana that can definetely fit two people. I like that there is a bottom to the tent, like thin.
