4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant surprise
The sound that this little system produces is beyond what I was hoping for. I have owned other brands of this type of speaker that did not deliver much. This one is different. Nice sound with plenty of volume, (coupled with some of the precharged/ longer storage batteries purchased separately) I find myself using it in more situations than I thought I would. 3.0 out of 5 stars Sound Great -Quality poor
This is an excellent product for the price.. I received it in 3 days after ordering... However, I didn't even have it for 1 week, & one of the speakers started buzzing, I think it blew out... Is there a difference in quality in the higher priced IMainGo? It sounded great before I had a problem with the speaker... Other than that, it is a great product.

Nice sound with plenty of volume, (coupled with some of the precharged/ longer storage batteries purchased separately) I find myself using it in more situations than I thought I would. The On/Off is a little inconvient, but I will trade it for pleasing sound at a very reasonible price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best budget portable speakers I've tried, May 9, 2009

Cheap, compact, loud (for their size), and good sound at reasonable volume. My car stereo doesn't have an MP3 link, and the FM transmitters are awful, so I frequently use this in the car as well. Battery life is pretty good and quality is OK.

This little gadget is the best!!! Awesome sound quality for a portable unit, any unit that is battery operated! Handy and convenient! I use mine for work and fishing! I am a bricklayer by trade and this little baby passes the test! Excellent and a very necessary piece of equipment! I have used this now for 1 1/2 years and still would not trade this for anything!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin' case! Buy two!, June 25, 2011
By

I carry mail and I have had this case for about two years, and i use it for @ 6 hours a day 5 days a week - rain or shine, 100 degrees or minus 5. I still get compliments on the sound, and when folks find out what it is and what it sounds like, they all ask where to get one.

After two years, i have only two issues with it.
1) the strap it came with that i use to attach it to my satchel strap is finally looking like it is going to give out
2) it outlasted my ipod classic, and when i had to replace the ipod, i tried using an ipod touch and didn't like the way the features of the itouch worked with the case closed (i must keep it closed at all times as i get snow, rain, and hail, as well as sweat and sprinklers to contend with) so i couldn't get an ipod touch when i replaced my ipod because i would not use it without one of these cases, so i was forced to buy a new ipod classic instead of the itouch!

Also the orange "iMainGo" labels finally fell off, but who cares! An indispensable tool for a mail carrier, who cannot wear headphones.

4.0 out of 5 stars Still the loudest, October 24, 2010

If you're looking for a loud portable speaker. This is still the loudest one I have encountered. The only problems worth noting are that it doesn't like rechargeable or low-grade batteries. I use rayovacs and would guess I get about 15 hours of playback off 4 AAA's before audio starts getting distorted and the volume gets quieter and quieter.

Would LOVE if they would make a new one of these with an external volume dial or at least on/off button.

Also batteries are a bit annoying to put in, and although it has very rarely happened with mine, I know sometimes others have issues with the batteries becoming somewhat dislodged if it's getting slammed around for awhile.

Great sound from a portable unit. A tad bit bulky but a well made product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good item but not worth $69.99, December 28, 2009

For $14.99, which is what I paid for it in June 2009, it's an excellent buy. However, it is probably not worth the current price of $69.99.

This iMainGo was exactly what I needed for listening to podcasts on my iPod Classic as I puttered around my apartment. I also like to use it as a portable speaker system when I want to watch a movie on my netbook. For music, it's also fine but the two speakers will severely distort the music if you're someone who likes to have the volume pumped up to maximum.

I've only had two minor annoyances with this product: (1) The plastic frame that holds the iPod in place came off because of inadequate glue so I used epoxy to glue it back. (2) The "on" indicator LED is inside the case and cannot be seen from the outside. If you don't make a habit of checking to make sure that you've turned off the speakers after you're done with them, your four AAA batteries will die very quickly.

1.0 out of 5 stars doesnt' fit ipod touch, April 9, 2009
This review is from: Portable Sound Labs iMaingo Portable iPod Speaker & Case (Electronics)
the box says "fits all ipods", but beware that the ipod touch won't fit, it's too long. customer support at the manufacturer confirmed this but said that it fits "ipods" but not the "itouch" (it's called an ipod touch, not an itouch, so if it fits all ipods a touch should fit). I guess I'll move on to a company that understands their market better- this one ended up wasting a lot of my time.
