Just got this yesterday and it really is cool. Reception here where i'm vacationing isn't the greatest as the nearest station is 20 miles away but can get a 'decent' picture noneoftheless. 1.0 out of 5 stars NOT WORTH IT!
Item was not current with digital FCC regulations, only could pick up one channel. Seller made it impossible to return, had to ship to Canada within 7 days using only the postal service and must have an authorization number. Cost $35.00-$45.00 just to ship back. NOT WORTH IT TO BUY!

Just got this yesterday and it really is cool. Reception here where i'm vacationing isn't the greatest as the nearest station is 20 miles away but can get a 'decent' picture noneoftheless. The pixels are very small so the scrolling words on the bottom on the news stations are very clear and you could even read them most of the time and if they were too small you could get a magnifying glass and probably read them.
One hour battery life isn't the greatest but the docking station holds 4 AA batteries for 3 hours viewing.
You must use the headphones as no built in speaker and the headphones act as the antenna so if you lose them you will have to get another one (I emailed the company and asked them if they are easily replaced - they haven't responded yet).
I actually live in San Francisco so expect great reception there (I am in Michigan right now) so will do another review to let you know how it is there next week when I fly back.
The case isn't all that great looking as it could have had a nicer design but it does the job. This is probably the coolest gadget of 2004 - highly recommended if you live close to stations ; )

4.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely cool, but reception so-so, February 22, 2006
This TV wrist watch is more like a wrist TV with a rudimentary time/date piece at the top. The TFT active matrix color (that's right, color!) screen measures about 1.5" diagonal. There's no speaker on the "watch"; instead, you listen in via the included special earphones. The earphones are special because the cord also acts as the TV antenna, so in order to watch TV on this thing, you must use the included earphones.

I got mine from a website called shentech dot com. (I'm *not* affiliated with them in any way.) Just sixty nine bucks only! You should know that NHJ went bankrupt last year, that's why the TV watch is on clearance now. What a pity. It's so cool...

Yeah, it's really cool to be able to watch TV on a watch. The TV runs off a built-in LiIon rechargable battery which can last over an hour, probably close to two hours. Recharging the battery takes around 90 minutes when connected to the AC. You can also recharge the battery using four AA batteries; or you can power the TV using AC or four AA alkaline batteries.

The TV watch really comes in two pieces: the TV unit, and an ugly plastic base with wrist strap attached. But NHJ also includes a neckstrap, very thoughtful of them, as watching TV on your wrist can get tiring.

The problem is, reception is just not that good. No, you can't hook up cable or a DVD to this. You just have to live with over-the-air (OTA) broadcast signals. The earphone-antenna is rather weak in picking up the signals. It helps if you are situated close to the TV broadcast towers or live on high floors. The reception is also very direction-dependent, and sometimes if you hold the earphone cord in your hand it may help. Overall, the reception on the TV is quite disappointing, but works if you are willing to experiment with different positions.

The TV tuner can tune in to channels 1 to 64, but due to the reception limitation, you proably will just get a few channels to look acceptable. For me, the Jerry Springer channel appears the best, so I can watch 2 hours of Jerry Springer on my wrist every day. Not bad.

Anyway, this is absolutely the coolest gadget in the world, and the price is really great. Just don't expect warranty repairs if yours breaks.

this is seriously one of the coolest gadgets ever! the image is really crisp, I live in LA and I could get almost all the local channels (depending on the location I'm in) Some channels are look better than others. The earphones work as an antenna which means I need to take care of them. There is no car charger which sucks for a portable device not to have. And the tv lasts only for an hour and a half, and with commercials it won't last through a movie.
Warning: You'll get addicted with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great picture, February 15, 2007

I got this tv watch a few months ago off of overstock for $60 i was just expecting a little gadget that wouldnt do much. I have to admit i was wrong this tv watch gets a great signal i get all the channels its looks and sounds just as good as my sattelite tv. Even when i go 20 miles outside of dallas i still get a crip picture you can see everything that you would on most tvs. I also have too add that this watch is very durable i have dropped it a few times and accidentally kicked and it still works fine. There were two things i did not like about it one is that the its a bit bulky and the other is that occasionally falls out of its wrist clip. Other than that i have no complaints i would consider it a great purchase and it definately worth the $99 on amazon as opposed to the original price of $240.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Best and...ONLY TV Watch?, December 27, 2005
By
I'm up and down with this thing, but it's still the best one out there. It charges via a docking station that plugs into an outlet. That's a 90-minute charge for one hour of viewing. That mini docking station can also be battery-fed and connected to the watch to make for a much longer viewing experience.

It fits just like a normal watch and takes up just as much space. The headphones double as the UHF/VHF antennae, so if you hate those two little buttons that keep falling out of your ears as much as I do, you're kind of out of luck in trying to use your ultra-cool stereo headsets. Until I figure out what to do next, I just fit the buttons inside the headset cups and it works fine.

The reception and the headpieces keep the elusive fifth star from making it's appearance here. If you think you're going to watch your favorite shows in a basement or on the train, forget it. Otherwise all local channels show up sweetly and crisply with only the most minor intermittent fluctuations.

Wonderful to watch while I go in the bus or car. Between a class and another one, in a rest or while one waits to be taken care of in some place. Wonderful not to lose its favorite programs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice watch, a little late, April 9, 2008
By
I don't actually own one but I have a friend who does. It's a nice little watch, does what is advertised but...In February of 2009 it will be completely and utterly worthless as a Television in the US. By law, TV stations have to switch over to a digital signal, this watch uses an analog tuner and thus will not work in less than a year. Keep this in mind when deciding on purchasing this watch.

not digital so no good in usa. the seller did not want to return my money. it was my mistake for not making sure it was not analogue so I let it slide even though amazon came to my aid and allowed me to return it. the seller is deceptive so do not buy anything from him

2.0 out of 5 stars Not reliable, October 9, 2008

I've been using this type of tv for over 2 years at my job, use it 20 hrs a week and it's good and the reception is decent (except ch3&5 that I can't get), but in 2 years I had to buys 5 tv's because there is always something that fails every 4 months or so, out of 5 tv's, 4 chargers burned out, 4 tv's burned out, 4 earphones stopped working cutting the sound and the reception.
I have to keep getting this tv, because it's the only one concealable enough that I can keep in my pocket, so that everyone at work thinks I'm using a small radio and won't complain, I can't wait for a new portable tv to come out early 2009 that will work with the new digital system.
And I found out the first time around that NHJ is no longer so there is no warranty.
