I have owned this unit for five years, and I use it both indoors and outdoors for track and field meets. On the plus side, this unit has a built in audio cassette player/recorder, long battery life, plug in for extra speaker, built in wireless receiver and microphone, and multiple input jacks and volume controls on the back. On the negative side, it is not waterproof. When I am working an outdoor track meet, I have to make sure it is covered with a plastic bag. Other negatives are that there is no method to mount on a tripod, and the battery replacements can only be ordered from the manufacturer. I resolved the tripod issue by having a mount made to fit a standard camera tripod. Overall, it is a wonderful, portable unit that exceeds my expectations, and it is well worth the money.
