French rock at its best - a classic.,
By LRS (Illinois - USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Le Porte Bonheur (Audio CD)
Le Porte-Bonheur is a great album. It has everything it needs to be an international hit. French rock is where rock should be - not too light and not too much metal. La Grande Sophie is excellent.

La grande Sophie, still perfect,
This review is from: Le Porte Bonheur (Audio CD)
This new album is still perfect, a bit darker than the "first" double-one ("La grande Sophie s'agrandi"& "Kitchen Music"). Even if now it's a "big" label (due to big labels buying small ones), the style is the same: rock, simple with a marvellous sound and a big soundstage (and her marvellous voice just in the middle), but with less humor. Martin, the big title heard a lot in french radios is not, in my opinion, the best of the album. It's the simpliest, the less dark and agressive (so it's OK for easy listening radios). La Grande Sophie has now confirmed that she is a real top level rock artist. Take and keep this album (and the first one if you can), they will be collectors, for years.
