Porter-Cable 15000 5-Inch 5-Hole Standard Hook and Loop Replacement Pad for 7334, 7335, and 97355 Sanders

I have been using the 7335 sander with this hook and loop pad for years. Some people complain about the holding power, but I use 60 grit discs regularly with no problems (maybe vaccuuming out the pad from time to time would help them). In fact, I just bought my first replacement pad only because a "helper" sanded without a sanding disc and wore off the hooks.
The hook and loop system allows quick changing of sanding discs as well as disc reuse. So you can quickly go from rough to fine sanding on individual pieces, and save the discs for the next job.

I could not have been more pleased in the turn around time in which I received this part. It is even an improved item over the orignal part.

I have a Porter Cable 7424 polisher that I wanted to use for sanding. The 5 inch pad was the right size for my counter weight on the porter cable. After looking at my options I decided to choose the hook and loop system as it seemed to be the best system and it is easy to change sand paper. The pad itself seems sturdy and fits perfect on my machine. Very easy to use. I would purchase again.

My Porter-Cable 7334 sander originally came with the adhesive-pad, which probably works best for production sanding, but not for repeated disc-switching. The optional P-C hook&loop pad I bought locally at least a dozen years ago finally disintegrated. (The hooks were still good, but the relatively hard foam rubber backing wasn't.) The rubber backing on the new Amazon-purchased pad is different and appears to be sturdier. I hope it holds up over time. The Amazon pad works very well. It is very easy to change sanding discs and even the lower grit discs stick during hard use. I recommend the pad. (The pad has held up - still works. 9/15/2011)

I have no idea why Porter-Cable makes it so difficult to find information on their products. At first I thought that Amazon was not providing information but P-C provides nothing on their web site either. Anyway, here is some more information:

1) Rated for 10,000 RPM maximum.
2) It does have a 5/16-24 stud on the back to make it compatable with sanders using this attachment system. (See uploaded photo)
3) It has some flex and will follow contours to some extent.

This unit works great for sanding out damaged spots on wood floors when used with the Porter-Cable 7424XP polisher and the Mirka sandpaper also sold by Amazon.

Fits the sander perfectly. Good grip with the hook and loop paper. The Stickit base that came on my sander had a tendency to throw the paper. Not a problem with this one.

This was very easy to change and well worth the money. I just switched from a standard stick pad to the hook and loop and wish I would have done it years ago.

The original pad had the discs with adhesive and they were a pain to use. The velcro rig allows for quick change and reuse of the discs. Saves time and money.
