4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality at a fair price, February 20, 2005
This review is from: Porter-Cable 5553 No. 20 Biscuits (1,000-Pack) (Tools & Home Improvement)
For years I have been using these P-C biscuits for building tabletops and panels in various furniture projects. Since I work with alot of 3/4" - 5/4" wood, I use these #20 biscuits more than the smaller #10 and #00.

I have not had any significant amount of "bad" biscuits from Porter-Cable. There is an occasional thick one - meaning it either didn't get compressed as it should have or it swelled from moisture - but these are few and far between.

Basically, I have had nothing but good luck with these so I highly recommend them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best biscuits for the money, September 30, 2001

This review is from: Porter-Cable 5553 No. 20 Biscuits (1,000-Pack) (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you want to use biscuits that are uniform and will work everytime, then get these. Porter Cable biscuits are, in my opinion, the best made. They do not swell prematurely, thereby preventing you from getting your project together. Nor do they come out of the box in a variety of non-uniform thicknesses. Each biscuit is within strict tolerances of the next biscuit. I have used the Lemello biscuits and have found that they are not as uniform or well made as those by Porter Cable. Additionally, I have used biscuits from Lowes and Home Depot (Wolfcraft?) and have found that those, too, are not uniform to the same tolerances as the Porter Cable biscuits.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BUY!, January 21, 2003

I purchased this box of 1,000 biscuits which came in 4 bags. I used to buy them at Home Depot and Lowes in the clear cylinder. This 1,000 pack is a much better buy and I don't have to be as conservative with them. This pack has lasted me a long time and prove to provide the strongest joint. I read in the reviews that someone wasn't satisfied about the quality of the biscuits, so I inspected them for defects and didn't find any. I am certain that these are the best buy for cost effectiveness and quality.

I work for a pro cabinet shop. These biscuits are just as good as others we've used, and better than many, as far as consistent size and quality. They cost about half what we were paying for another high quality brand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty Biscuits!, July 10, 2010
This review is from: Porter-Cable 5553 No. 20 Biscuits (1,000-Pack) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I like the #20 biscuits best for all-around woodworking. Sized just right and allow about 1/8" play in the joint for proper alignment. Good consistent quality in this product.

I use biscuits now and again, but I always seem to run out just when I need them. These are top quality biscuits and 1,000 at this price, I'll never run out.

I bought these biscuits through Amazon because I can only get packages of 250 locally. Even so, I only saved about $1 over the cost of buying the smaller packs. Still, you can't beat the convenience of ordering from Amazon.

I use Plate Jointers quite often and Highly Recommend as the strenght of the joint is most times stronger than the wood itself.
