Get a full 265 ft./lbs. of torque, in forward or reverse, with this powerful 8.5 amp, electric, 1/2-inch impact driver. The mid-handle is ergonomically designed to give this driver excellent balance and comfort. A heavy-duty rocker switch provides quick and easy changes between forward and reverse operation. The motor is designed for use with 120 volts AC or DC and can be used with welders or generators. Running at 2,000 rpm, this driver delivers 2,600 impacts per minute for a powerful driving action. For reduced down time, this driver also has externally accessible brush caps for quick and easy replacement of worn brushes on the job site. The driver comes with an operator's manual.

I bought the Porter Cable to replace an older Milwaukee, it had better torque than the old Milwaukee but after tightening 25 to 30 lag screws it became so hot you couldn't touch the front of the tool, and the front bearing began to leak grease all over the place. This was a major problem as i was lag bolting together a log home and the grease was getting all over the logs.

I purchased the Porter Cable because I have had good luck with their products in the past and was impressed with the extra torque this wrench had.BUT when I opened the box I found the tool with scuff marks and sitting in a small puddle of oil. I am doubtful if the leaking oil condition would improve with use and did not want the risk of messing up my tool chest considering this model does not come with case (model with case was discontinued per ToolCribb). I will be returning product and trying another brand.

i have owned (and still own) probably 85% of the p/c line of tools and this is the first one i have truely been disapointed in. i expeienced the same problems as the previous writers, with the tool heating up to the point where it is painfully hot, and the lubrication dripping down from the tool. i returned it the second day i owned it and purchased a competing brand and couldnt be happier. p/c really dropped the ball on this one.
