The 2-horsepower compressor, with its 6-gallon tank, has plenty of reserve capacity so it doesn't cycle as often as other compressors. Plus, its oil-free design means less maintenance. The lightweight compressor, though a little noisy (but only a little), is easily transported (there's a nice hand slot on top). With a maximum draw of only 10 amps, this compressor is also much less likely to trip a breaker than other, higher-amp compressors, which saves you from having to tramp back and forth to the breaker box. What else? There's also a carrying case for the nailer: no-nonsense and plastic, but certainly protective. Hands down, though, the real kicker here is the savings--compared to what you'd spend buying everything in this package item by item, it's pretty hard to resist. --Jon Groebner

Great Value,

This review is from: Porter-Cable CFFN250S 2-1/2-Inch 16 Gauge Finish Nailer/Compressor Combo Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
Purchased [online]. The compressor is light enough to move easily, but stays in place unless the floor has some kind of gloss finish. The nailer is light-wieght, easy to hold overhead, the exhaust duct is easy to direct and the nail depth is simple and stays in place. The DeWalt guns are nicer (more substantial feeling and heavier guage nails), but a DeWalt 15g costs as much as the whole PC kit. Trigger trip point fluctuates a little, and it's pretty easy to double nail a spot if you pull too slowly. But other than that it's a wonderful tool and a great value.

This review is from: Porter-Cable CFFN250S 2-1/2-Inch 16 Gauge Finish Nailer/Compressor Combo Pack (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased this combo pack along with an 18 Gauge nailer. The compressor will generate more than enough power for anything you need to do around the house. I put up crown molding throughout the entire house using this compressor and the 18 gauge, and it was incredibly easy. I've built several pieces of furniture using the 16 gauge nailer of this combo pack with wonderful success. Initial set up of the compressor and nailers takes no time at all. This is a must for anyone installing moldings, casings, and/or baseboards. I will never use a hammer again!

I love all new tools,

All new tools are great, but this tool is just good to look at! Well written instructions, which bad directions are a real pet peeve. This is just as much a customer service item as returning a phone call - and cheaper in the long run. I own several PC tools and you will never go wrong! This is an incredible value if you do a lot of finish work. The compressor probably isn't that good for other types of use, though. For another $100 you can add a brad nailer, too, which adds a lot of flexibility. I do think PC should give me a discount since I had to live with my BAMMER for the last several years, although it too is good for limited use. I've researched this tool quite a bit at different stores and everybody likes this rig. I'd go for it without thinking too much. This is a good value and a great tool.
