A real performer, this 25-gallon air compressor from Porter Cable allows more usable air to be stored in the tank. The high-pressure design allows for longer run time between refills - it's like being able to fit 32 gallons of air in a 25-gallon tank - so you'll get more done. The powerful induction motor and high-pressure pump deliver 8.3 scfm at 40 psi and 6.8 scfm at 90 psi. A higher flow regulator starts the pump at 110 psi and stops it at 135 psi for more pressure and airflow. The oil-lubricated design provides longer lasting service and increased durability. A cushioned grip and large wheels provide maneuverability with ease and comfort. This compressor is excellent for home shop use and moderate construction usage. Your purchase includes compressor with high-flow, high-pressure regulator and gauge, 1/4-inch quick coupler, and operator's manual.

Before you buy compressor make sure you take the time to ask yourself how important portability is? My wrench head friend purchased a 60 gallon upright unit with tons of air but once its in place you never want to move it again. This is great if you are only using your air tools in one place. However, when I asked him about what compressor to buy, his first word of advice was to buy something portable.

After doing a lot of research, I settled on the PC 6025. This unit has plenty of air to run any of the nailers I own. It also will run a HVLP spray gun without a hitch.

One world of caution about the PC6025. It may have wheels but this is one seriously heavy compressor. If you have a workshop in your basement and its not a walkout, plan on getting a buddy to help you carry the 6025 down stairs and more than likely you won't be bringing it up anytime soon. I ultimately went out a bought a little 5 gallon compressor for $150 bucks to use as a truly portable compressor.

I have a small shop (our two car garage) and I am very sensitive to noise. So, you can guess, that my two top priorities were a quiet unit that I could operate in the shop while I was working, yet powerful enough to drive my wide range of pneumatic tools. If you have the same requirements, you are reading about your dream compressor. This unit is smooth and powerful Once again PC has delivered a nice piece of engineering. I have placed it in my shop under a table that I do most of my assembly and work. It kicks on and burrs for a few seconds and goes to sleep for a long period while I am firing nails or something. I measured the noise level while it was running and it is well within the range. I just love this compressor!

I have a small shop and was looking for a quiet compressor, portable, with a large enough capacity to handle a variety of tasks. I had an old sears 220v compressor that was very quiet that finally gave up the ghost. I borrowed a relatives compressor that was so loud that I couldn't stand it any longer. After reading other reviews I purchased the CPL6025 and it's everything I hoped for. Highly recommend it for someone with the same needs as me.
