4.0 out of 5 stars Get the restrictive trigger.
Good gun, but be careful with it. Has a tendency to double fire with the regular trigger. Thought I was getting the hang of it, until I put a nail an inch and a half into the side of my hand. Got the restrictive trigger immediately after that and have not had any trouble since. I have several nailers and this is the only one that I have ever had a problem with...

1.0 out of 5 stars no pros, just cons
I have bought this gun as a combo kit while I was building my house, because my bostisch had died.
As a construction worker, I have tried each and every framing nailer, and the top is Paslode, but it's top dollars as well.

The porter cable doesn't take as much nails in the loader as the other guns, so when buying nail strips you will get the stripes that...

Good gun, but be careful with it. Has a tendency to double fire with the regular trigger. Thought I was getting the hang of it, until I put a nail an inch and a half into the side of my hand. Got the restrictive trigger immediately after that and have not had any trouble since. I have several nailers and this is the only one that I have ever had a problem with double firing. Do yourself a favor and get the red trigger from the start. Only take a few seconds to change out.

I borrowed this nailer from a friend because I was building a work bench for the garage. It really kicked out the nails! They went through the 3/4" MDF and 2x4s like butter. It is a bit akward because of of it's size, but I did like the angled magazine which allows eaiser access to corners. I am looking to pick one up for myself soon, as I have a shelving project for the garage.

I bought my FC350 a while back. And, this gun has been nothing but good to me, never have misfires or jams. It is so reliable, day in, day out, this gun performs like no other. I was looking at the Senco 650 when I was gun shopping, and the FC-350 is solid aluminum, Whereas the Senco's nail-loading system is plastic. I KNOW you will love this gun, and its high-quality performance. Its the best clipped head framing gun out there. I have used Bostitch, Senco, Hitachi, and this gun clearly reigns.

I got the FR350 nailer first and had to return it in favor of this one because I could not find round head nails locally to fit the FR.. I found out that some building codes ban the use of clipped head nails so round head nailers are used instead. In N. Texas the clipped head is used almost exclusively so there are no round head nails available locally for the FR350. The FC350 holds a few more nails and the nails are a bit cheaper anyway. The FC is my second Porter Cable Nailer. The other is a finish nailer. I love both..

4.0 out of 5 stars For this price why buy a Senco?, October 12, 2000

...This gun is an excellent overall value, but it is not the true production gun like a Paslode FrameMaster Plus or the newer Sencos.

Someone stole PC FC350 from my carport last fall. I purchased a Paslode FrameMaster Plus to replace it and it was stolen in early September. I haven't decided whether to buy another framing nailer or not.

It will frame an entire house without much problem.

I use generic Grip-Rite or Senco or Paslode brand nails without any problems, and can find any of them at Lowe's.

4.0 out of 5 stars A NICE NAILER, March 18, 2003

I havent had my fc350 long but Its really nice thus far . I bought the combo kit for 449.00 and the compressor does nicely
as well . I have only fired senco 3 1/4 " nails and so far problem free . I did however install an inline oiler which corects ( I'm too tired to go to get the bottle laziness ). I toenailed without problems even with the rubber toe guard .I ran 80 psi air and the 3 1/4" nails stopped flush in treated pine which was wet !!!Some say nails are hard to find ( Its due to the nail manufacturers dont all post the boxes as to full compatability on competitors nain guns ). The FC 350 uses 30-34 degree strips . I'm told paslode nails will fire good as well.Get an inline oiler and use QDs on it (I also run an oiless
trim gun and oil will damage it ). I highly advise a swivel on the gun side of your hose ( It reduces tangles and twisted hoses)

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice tool for the home remodeler., November 1, 2000

I purchased this nail gun to help build my deck and for future remodeling projects around the house. For the cost and basic function I think it's a great deal. Although I must agree with a previous review by Mr. Fredrick that the gun does double fire often. At the time I was not aware of the single fire triger which has prevented further injury to Mr.Fredrick. I will be purchasing this special trigger soon.

I hope the double fire issue is not common with all Porter Cable nail guns because I just ordered the 15gage Finish nailer from them.

I bought this gun two years ago and I haven't had a problem with it yet! It is fairly light weight compared to other guns on the market, but it is a tuff gun. This gun toe-nails and shoots straight very well. I would recomend this gun for anyone who builds on a regular basis! For the money, you can't do any better!

The tool is not light, but it works well. The clipped nails are nice for more compact loads. Though this gun has a lot of use, I have not had any problems with it so far.
