5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this nozzle for latex applications
If you are spraying a latex product with an HVLP air sprayer, don't even bother with the 2.0mm nozzle kit - go straight to the 2.2mm Nozzle Kit. I have the Porter Cable HVLP air sprayer and I originally bought the 2.0mm nozzle and it would only work if I really watered down the paint. The problem with that is I hardly got any coverage and it was very runny.
So then...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very well built, good quality, iffy results (esp. with latex)
I purchased this to shoot latex paint for small projects and had very mixed results. It took a lot of thinning to get it anywhere close to workable, but by that time it was misting really badly and went everywhere. However, the quality of the product is excellent for the price. I'm just hoping it works better for naturally thinner products like varnish and urethane.

I have the Porter Cable HVLP air sprayer and I originally bought the 2.0mm nozzle and it would only work if I really watered down the paint. The problem with that is I hardly got any coverage and it was very runny.
So then I went with the 2.2mm Nozzle and I didn't have to thin the paint if I didn't want to. However, it did spray a little bit better when I added about 5-10% water and 10% Floetrol @ 45 PSI. The Floetrol will make the paint lay more evenly.
So if you need to spray latex paint, buy the 2.2mm Nozzle right away and you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great on my Harbor Freight 43430 Gun, August 14, 2005
This review is from: Porter-Cable PTA23 Nozzle Kit (PSH1) (Tools & Home Improvement)

I own a Harbor Freight 43430 spray gun that is only available with a 1.3mm nozzle. HF does not offer other nozzles for the 43430. I had heard that the HF gun was identical to the PC PSH1 gun. While I do not know if they are identical, the PC 2.2 nozzle fits the HF 43430 perfectly and allows me to spray thicker coatings that are difficult/impossible to spray with the 1.3mm nozzle that comes with the HF 43430.

5.0 out of 5 stars Minnesota Charlie, July 10, 2006
This review is from: Porter-Cable PTA23 Nozzle Kit (PSH1) (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased the PSH1 sprayer based on the positive reviews of others. They suggested a large nozzle and so I had to choose between the 2.0 and 2.2. I went with the larger and the results are good. I sprayed the interior walls with latex KILZ then two coats of exterior latex house paint. I thinned the primer and paint at 10% with water and no trouble with plugging or spattering, nice finish to treated plywood, OSB, and pine board. I used a Makita MAC 2400 compressor to supply the air. Very glad I bought the sprayer because it saved me hours of labor if I used a roller and brush.

5.0 out of 5 stars Porter Cable spray nozzle, June 5, 2010

As with Porter Cable equipment goes, the quality of this item was very good. I was looking for a bigger tip for my sprayer for painting. The latex paints have become so thick they won't spray nicely. After some research, trial and error, I was able to put down a nice finish. You need to add Flotrol (up to 25%) and a little water up to (10%.) Put gun pressure up to about 55 lbs. Close down the amount of fluid at the tip. This will atomize the paint better. It takes longer to paint but you don't end up with little air bubbles on the surface.

Works real well with spraying "Fabulon" polyurethane (Woodworking). I have been thinning it 10 percent with mineral spirits. I haven't tried straight poly yet but I'm confident it not only will "Atomize", but will probably work better...I tried the original 1.5mm needle valve today with the 10% thinning and that equally impressed me. It merits 4 stars because it could be a little less expensive. In a nutshell, it works...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wish I had this years ago, September 25, 2010

As other reviewers have said, I also had the 2.0 tip and ended up thinning(watering) down latex to the consistancy of water. Did not work well and took many, many coats to get a good(?) result.
This tip took the normal 5-10% thinning and sprayed latex well with good coverage and no runs.
I have also used this to spray a wall in a room and it worked great - although much slower than an airless.
I wish that this tip had been available when I first got the sprayer. It would have saved me much frustation.
