Almost Perfect, no access to ports when in the Case,

This is a really nice looking case. It "feels" great, soft, smooth, almost luxurious. The case has a magnetic snap to keep it closed. Has a slightly padded feel to it and its a bit bigger than the regular Kindle case.
You stash the Kindle on the left side and it slips into a little pocket with clear plastic "windows" for the keys. At first I thought, what the heck? But the plastic is quite soft and you can easily press all the keys thru it. You have to work the Kindle in nice & snug. I don't think I will be taking it out much, not sure if that little pocket will stretch or not. In the past my experience says snug little areas like this are prone to stretching some. This baby's not going anywhere - the Kindle feels very secure inside. What's GREAT about this case is the area that holds the Kindle lifts up, it sits on a velcro slot / tab that lets you stand the Kindle at any viewing angle you want as the tab folds back onto a velcro strip. And it looks great, its sitting here on my desk at the perfect viewing angle for me. When you lay the tab down, its fit seamlessly into the case - this was very very well done. The spine is much more flexible that the amazon case, this one folds around easily. This case is a little bit bigger than the old case, maybe 1 inch taller and one inch more across. If anything the extra width might make it easier to hold? You can actually fold it back entire flat, seems pretty comfy holding it that way. In the center (on the spine) is a little space to to slip in a pen and a small memo pad is included on the right side. I took out the memo pad as I don't need to take notes, I have a iphone for that. If you do take out the memo pad its totally unnoticeable that there is a slot there for pad unless you look close. Without the pad the case is a bit slimmer when closed and fits better in my hand. I want this to be as slim and light as possible. Cons: EDIT: in using this case a few days I found another big flaw. As the Kindle sits in a pocket on the left side, there is nothing really to secure it in there other than the tension of keeping it in the pocket. When I picked the case up today, the Kindle must have worked itself slightly up in the pocket and as a result it slid right out of the case and onto the carpet floor. No harm done but yikes. I tested it and yeah, even if you put it in very securely, and turn it upside down and give it a decent shake, the Kindle slides right out of the case. there should be something to secure the top of the Kindle also. I am going to leave it at 3 stars tho, its still a well done case. 1. One MAJOR flaw, with the Kindle in the case the little pocket it sits in covers up ALL the ports. Power, headphones, USB are ALL inaccessible. You can press the volume buttons thru the pocket pretty easily once you figure out where they are. I broke down and used some scissors to make the smallest possible slit in the material that would let me plug in the headphones and power cable. This case would have literally been perfect if not for this. This being said, the material on the pocket was super tough to cut and there is stitching around the sides of the pocket so I think my cutting did not hurt anything & you can't even see it. They could have easily made a small stitched slot here on the bottom. 2. With the case closed and "squeezing" lightly, I can feel the "next page" button on the right side being pressed. I tested my old case and this didn't happen, tho the scroll wheel button would press. I guess its a trade off. Just turn it off before you walk around with it I guess. 3. I wish they had kept the case smaller, I like that the amazon case is just as big as the Kindle, makes it good for stashing in a backpack and such. Even tho this case is only 1 inch taller an 1 inch more across, it "feels" a lot bigger. I think the upside to this is it will probably keep it safer if I drop it.

This looked like an interesting case when I ordered it last week and it is interesting, just not very functional. You may like it but I didn't and here's why:
The case seemed backwards with the Kindle on the left instead of on the right (I knew this when I ordered it but didn't realize how big a difference it would make) - I suppose if you were left handed you might like this. I'm right handed and didn't like it. Opening, holding, using it all seemed awkward to me because of this layout. When in the case all of the knobs and ports at the bottom of the Kindle (volume, headphone jack and charger jack) you might want to get to are covered and can't be accessed. The pocket that holds the Kindle has clear plastic in the middle instead of being open. I didn't notice this when I ordered it - I assumed it was just black fake leather cut out - but there is a window there. Because of this the keys (including the font key) have to be pushed through the plastic. If you don't push the Kindle down as far as possible into the pocket you can't access the number keys at all. The case was too bulky and large. It is much larger than the original Kindle case of course, but even larger than the M-Edge case. I would not use the Kindle for reading while in this case unless I used it on a flat surface with the prop holding it up. The ability to prop up the Kindle with the velcro-ed folding tab on the left was it's best feature. The front cover had a magnet clasp that closed the case, but having been told before (by Kindle Support Staff) that the Kindle cover was orignally going to attach via magnetics but they scrapped that idea when it interfered with Whispernet wireless I'm not sure this is a good idea. And I was always wondering if the case was really closed. The paper pad on the left immediately began to curl once I began to use the holder. Therefore I ended up putting the entire pad behind the pad holder not just the cardboard backing - making the pad pretty much useless for notes by the time you took it out of the pad holder to expose the first page. It did provide adequate padding for the screen.

I really like this Kindle cover. It's a little bigger than the cover that comes with your Kindle, but you don't have to have velcro on the Kindle to keep it in place. Also, the stand is very convenient for reading at a table and it is easier to reach the buttons on the back of the Kindle. It is also more padded than the original cover offering more protection. The only improvement would be for the manufacturer to put a hole at the bottom of the holder so you could charge the battery without having to remove the Kindle from the holder (that's the only reason why I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5).
