The canister is part of a set of four from the Botanic Garden line. Creator Susan Williams-Ellis found inspiration from illustrated herbal and botany guidebooks from the nineteenth century. The pieces are hand decorated in garden motifs, featuring diverse members of the botany family such as the crocus, honeysuckle, and snowdrop, along with old friends such as butterflies and hummingbirds.
