Crafted of high quality earthenware, the dinnerware in this set is dishwasher- and microwave-safe, and oven-safe to 340 degrees.
Artist Susan Williams-Ellis found her inspiration for Botanic Garden from antique botanical illustration plates. The mix and match collection currently features around 30 individual floral and butterfly designs with the signature leaf motif border. Botanic Garden dinnerware got its beginnings when Portmeirion founder Susan Williams-Ellis stumbled across an antique flower encyclopedia from the 1800s. Unwilling to limit herself to reproducing just one image, Williams-Ellis decided to create a line of tableware with all the diversity of a botanic garden. Vivid and lovely, the resulting dishes are beautifully detailed and alive with fluttering butterflies. The pattern features 30 distinct flower varieties, with new plants introduced on a regular basis, so you can continue to refresh and expand your collection. Crafted from vitreous stoneware, the dishes are safe in the freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and oven. This Amamzon . exclusive set contains 4 dinner plates, 4 salad plates, 4 cereal plates and one Serving Bowl (all in assorted motif's) and four blue stemed options goblets. At about $11 per piece, this is an excellent value. These pieces are not seconds-- the plates and bowls all stack evenly. Everything was well packed and it arrived well before I expected it.

My mother has had Botanic Garden from Portmeirion tableware for years now. I've purchased pieces for her as gifts a number of times and they are typically not inexpensive. I finally decided to start using it for myself. This was a great value. You will not find any other place where you can get 17 pcs for this price. Also, they were packed perfectly. Everything arrived in pristine condition and was exactly as advertised on the site. I may purchase another set to bring my service up to 8 and then will send the extra pasta bowl to my mother as a gift.
