Perfect for fruit salads, soup, cereal, and of course ice cream, this set of six deep bowls has no end of uses. French onion soup can even be served with the traditional topping of melted cheese, because the sturdy earthenware is oven-safe to 340 degrees F. Each bowl is covered with hand-painted flowers. Inside is a single large motif, and the outside features a smaller repeated pattern and a rim of intertwined leaves.

More than 30 years ago the founder of Portmeirion Potteries was inspired by 19th-century botanical illustrations to create the Botanic Garden collection of tableware and cookware. Each piece is crafted from fine glazed earthenware and features highly detailed floral designs complemented by a simple border of green leaves to give the collection a coordinated look. Botanic Garden tableware is safe in the freezer, microwave, oven, and dishwasher, but it should not be subjected to sudden changes in temperature. --Simon Leake

We have these bowls and use them every single day for things like cereal, guacamole, fruit & yogurt, and dessert, among other things. These are very durable bowls that are beautiful to look at. Our guests always comment on how nice they are.

Just received this set and was very pleased with the patterns, and the value. With free shipping from Amazon, the price can't be beat. With Portmeirion currently manufacturing in both England and China, I was concerned about the origin of these bowls..
