Great space-saving idea!,

Not only do these two serving bowls nest perfectly, but the medium oval baker (not part of this set but still available) fits neatly in the center, with its flattened rim resting on the rims of the other two.
The oval bowls (made in China) are thinner and feel less sturdy than the oval baker, which has endured many years of heavy use in my home. However, with perhaps a little more care I expect these new bowls to be reasonably durable. Regarding their capacity: filled to about an inch below the rim, the larger bowl holds about 6 cups of liquid and the smaller bowl holds about 4 cups.

These are lovely bowls -- the larger has a beautiful primrose in the middle, and the smaller bowl has the sweetpea design. Along the sides of the bowls are various of the other botanic garden flowers -- very attractive. The bowls are deeper than they look in the picture, so would easily hold pasta dishes, as well as vegetables or fruit. As with all Portmeirion, they can be used in the microwave, oven or freezer. This is a stunning addition to any Portmeirion collection. And the price is hard to beat!!

I am very happy with this purchase. The pattern is different on both bowls, something that was not clear from the description. The price was great too. It arrived promptly and without damage.
