Acclaimed Artist Susan Winget designed "A Christmas Story" in 1995. It is the first and only introduction of the famous poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement C. Moore on fine porcelain tableware and accessories with complimenting glassware and woodware products. Each piece features a different scene and storyline from this famous poem. Over the years this delightful table service has become one of the most collectible series of holiday tableware in the marketplace. I was very disappointed. The platter is made in China and the quality is not up to expectations of a Portmeirion plate.The real origin of this item was not specified in the description.
Furthermore, at the back of the plate it reads translucent porcelaine,it's not translucent at all.

I gave this give to a family member whose house we always visit for Christmas. It was a HUGE hit. I gave her a set of the matching plates too. This platter and the matching dinner and dessert plates will solve my Christmas gift-giving dilemma for years to come since I will undoubtably gift them to other family & friends in the future. These are beautifully made and absolutely charming on the table. They earn their 5 stars easily.
