One of the best Christmas gifts I've ever given
I gave this give to a family member whose house we always visit for Christmas. It was a HUGE hit. I gave her a set of the matching plates too. This platter and the matching dinner and dessert plates will solve my Christmas gift-giving dilemma for years to come since I will undoubtably gift them to other family & friends in the future. Very disappointing
I was very disappointed. The platter is made in China and the quality is not up to expectations of a Portmeirion plate.The real origin of this item was not specified in the description. Furthermore, at the back of the plate it reads translucent porcelaine,it's not translucent at all.

This is probably one of the prettiest pieces I have in my Christmas China. It is also a very useful piece. I love it!!!! It could be given as a gift to someone who does not even have A Christmas Story as a china pattern. It is a great dish to use when you are taking something to a covered dish over the holidays.
