Created by artist Susan Winget for Portmeirion, these four A Christmas Story salad/dessert plates have a festive mood and versatile construction. Bright and detailed, each plate features imagery and verses from the Clement C. Moore poem "’Twas the Night Before Christmas." A border of holly and a dark red rim complete the plates’ festive effect. Series 3 in the pattern, this set features these verses: "When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter," "A bundle of toys he had flung on his back," "The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth," and "He filled all the stockings then turned with a jerk." Crafted from fine translucent porcelain, the plates are substantial in weight and safe in the dishwasher, oven, and microwave. They measure 8 inches in diameter. Acclaimed artist Susan Winget designed "A Christmas Story" for Portmeirion in 1995. It is the first and only depiction of the famous poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Clement C. Moore on fine porcelain tableware and accessories. Each piece features a different scene and story line from this famous poem. Over the years, this delightful table service has become one of the most collectible series of holiday tableware on the market. Beautifully decorated "every day" weight china. A pretty, yet durable pattern. The different pieces tell the Night before Christmas story. There are 4 series of 4 plates, each with different lines and pictures from the story. Do note that the story and pictures are different for the salad plates and the dinner plates. These dishes are very fun for the holidays.

These dishes are such a great addition to Christmas. They're as colorful and bright as the season, very convenient since they're dishwasher safe, and Amazon had the best prices around on these. I intend to purchase more.
