The title says it all. A smorgasbord of great portraits - one has only to seek the ones he likes, then savor the passion for it within.

Paper is much better than other titles in the Dover art series. Even the darker prints look great on the semi-slick, clay-based paper. The color prints range from breathtaking to beyond, considering the originals were done in dry media and many are centuries old. Both familiar and not so familiar artists, in a wide range of styles, historical periods, etc., are depicted, but each one is compelling in its own way. There is no text except for details about each print, which are cataloged at the beginning, something I find appealing as it is not distracting on the page with the print. I am using this to study/draw/learn from the Portrait Masters. An inexpensive treasure!
