This review is from: Moche Portraits from Ancient Peru (Joe R. and Teresa Lozana Long Series in Latin American and Latino Art and Culture) (Hardcover)
Loved this book! Loved the Moche portraits. Page 8/9 contains 7 portraits that are some of the best I've ever seen in clay. For me, a clay sculptor and teacher, this is a fabulous book. It is part archeology, part PreColombian history, and part the psychology of using power symbols to control your tribe. The examples of how the vessels were made was interesting too.
