About the Author
Rev. Hugh Anderson, II is the founder and ministry leader at Solid Rock Ministry Network Church of God in Christ (COGIC) presently in Winter Park/Orlando, FL. He began pastoral ministry as assistant pastor at Anderson Memorial COGIC in High Springs, FL and Westside COGIC in Alachua, FL under the pastorate of the late Superintendent Hugh Anderson, Sr. He is an ordained Elder in the Church of God in Christ, Inc. and has pastored Pine Street COGIC in Starke, FL; Solid Rock Evangelistic Center COGIC in Gainesville, FL; and Latter Rain Harvest Ministries COGIC in Gainesville, FL. Rev. Anderson was a band and choral director at Interlachen High School in Putnam County, FL and a Substance Abuse Counselor at two State of Florida Prisons. His speaking engagements have included International COGIC conferences (such as, COGIC International Convocation and International Auxiliaries in Ministry Conference); Martin Luther King Day rallies; interdenominational worship services; and revival/crusade speaker at several venues. He received the Bachelor of Science in Music Education with a concentration in piano and voice from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, FL in 1967. Rev. Anderson also received the Master of divinity degree from C.H. Mason Theological Seminary (a constituent under the Interdenominational Theological Center/ITC) in Atlanta, GA in 1980. His Master’s concentrations were Psychology of Pastoral Care and Counseling and Biblical Studies: Old and New Testament. Here he excelled in Homiletics, receiving the Isaac R. Clarke preaching award. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1969 as a Military Intelligence Analyst during the Vietnam War Era. Rev. Anderson was married to the late Fernsene L. Anderson and is the father of five children.
