Randy Weston Trilogy, February 26, 2009

This recording is part of a brilliant trilogy of portraits (Ellington, Monk and Self) by Weston, released in the early 90s. His rich tone supported by West African rhythms and percussion brings marvelous dimensions to familiar and original compositions. Check Caravan on the Ellington album to see what I mean. See also
