Book Description

April 2, 2001
Portraits of Forgiveness is a tale of life, love and the law in rural Tennessee. Chad Atkins has become deaf and his mother, Anne, blames his doctors who refuse to talk to her. As a medical malpractice suit, filed by country lawyer Sam Trestle, begins to rip Anne's family apart, Anne is forced to choose between money, revenge, truth and compassion as she fights to prove her case against the medical establishment and the powers of a small Tennessee town. From Chad's illness, through the legal technicalities of a complex lawsuit, this is at once the heartfelt story of a mother's pain, her desire for revenge, and her struggle for peace. Portraits of Forgiveness builds to a surprising courtroom climax, but ultimately leaves us with truths that endure far longer than the twists and turns of this captivating drama.

5.0 out of 5 stars What An Ending!, December 15, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Portraits of Forgiveness (Paperback)
It seems like it has been forever since I read a book that really keep my interest. I had even resorted to some tried and true classics. Then I found Portraits of Forgiveness. I felt what the Mom felt, what the lawyer felt - all the ups and downs they had. And the ending made me think of the suprise ending in Scott Turow's Presumed Innocent which I never expected! I really recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling Read!, August 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Portraits of Forgiveness (Paperback)
If you like John Grisham then this should interest you, but Hull seems to delve deeper into personalities and into the rawness of the subject matter. Compelling read that I enjoyed immensely!
