I bought this cd for one tune but all the rest are good, also. The one tune, "Very Early," is just excellent.

the cut of 'i got rhythm' is worth the price of the disc itself. the fiery technique of 'ol' man river,' the perfect melodic touch in 'i remember clifford.' this is a record you spend your lifetime trying to learn

Two tracks are dazzling -- the others so so,

This review is from: Portraits (Audio CD)
The two tracks listed in the Amazon.com information turn out to be the ones that most distinguish Taylor from other acoustical guitarists, such as Earl Klugh. They display a dazzlingly fast bass line that interacts nicely with the melody. The album is worth these two tracks for guitar buffs. However, the other tracks are fine but not especially distinguished. Chet Atkins takes part but does not add much.
