This Cd will give any one a great introduction to this form of music. This album is as exciting as Caetano Veloso Cd"s. The many voices and instruments are superb I first heard the album CBC Radio and could only find ot on Amazon.

This the best CD that I have in my collection of music from Portugal. Music from FADO to popular music; and singer from Amalia Rodrigues, Queen of Fado, to Madredeus, the best group in Portugal is covered. Must have album for anyone interested in various musical arts and forms from Portugal.

I highly recommend this selection of contemporary popular Portuguese music. From Amalia Rodrigues to Madredeus, you'll find great voices and instruments and over all a marvelous introduction to a very rich national tradition. One special reason to buy this cd: you won't find most of these artists available in the US. My favorites? Maria Joao, Madredeus and Ne Ladeiras. The two songs of Ne Ladeiras were enough reason to purchase the CD. It's a pitty that such a great talent is practically unknown.
