This is a great product - entirely audio and easy to follow. You progressively learn to speak basic Brazilian Portuguese in a matter of days. The only down side is, since it is all audio, you don't have a book to reference for the spelling of phrases and it is primarily in the formal (so, if you are practicing your Portuguese with a Brazilian friend, you are speaking to that person as if they were a stranger, using the formal rather than the casual. This is great if you are traveling and need to ask a stranger for directions, but if you want to ask a friend how he/she is doing, it sounds very textbook. The casual is taught in the conversational course however; and this course has been extremely helpful). I was amazed at how quickly I was able to pick phrases up and retain them.

I went to Brazil for 5 days of business and tourism and wanted to have at least a little familiarity with the laguage before I went. I was skeptical of using CDs without a book, but the Pimsler program was excellent. I didn't have enough time to become fluent, but the basics I learned from this program made the senors y senoras pleased that at least I tried. And several times, I actually - inadvertently - fooled people I encountered into thinking I spoke their language because my accent was spot on. Highly recommended.

Shipping was perfect! I received it within 48 hrs after clicking the order button. I also like the really nice CD case included. However, I do not recommend this product for people with a short attention span. It gets VERY repetitive and moves at a really slow pace. This is good for slow learners like myself however, it gives plenty of room for your mind to wander because of its repetitiveness.

Also, there is not book to follow along with which would be really convenient for people who learn best via the visual sense. Recommended to be used together with other visual products such as "Portuguese in 10 minutes a day" or Rosetta Stone (if you can afford it).

Amazing format. It's just the way we learned to speak our native language, by hearing it over and over. The segments are short enough to review in a drive to the grocery store. I really enjoy the male and female interaction which allows you to work on your pronunciation. Highly recommend this product.

I bought this as a gift. But the person found those CD's too easy, as he already got a Brasilian Portuguese language base.

I'm gonna try to sell it.

HOWEVER if he didn't know anything about the language those CD's were gonna be perfetc - very easy to learn with.

This CD contains 10 short lessons which I can say it's good for the price.
The pronunciation is very good and understandable. Every lessons builds up on the preceding.

I love this CD because I wanted to learn conversational portuguese and it moves at a nice pace. My husband, who lived in Sao Paulo for 2 years says the accent is perfect. It could use a little pocket sized book just so I could see the words as well and hear them and to stick in my tavel bag. Although, I know that this would through a lot of people off due to their pronunciation of the alphabet.

So far, I really like this product. I've only listened to half of the CDs, but I think I have a good feel for it. What I like is that it is cumulative and continues to build from each lesson.
