Now that's Portuguese cooking!
As a native of Portugal, I can honestly say that this is the most authentic Portuguese cookbook, written in English, that I have ever had the pleasure of using. All of the recipes I have done so far turn out just like my mother's! Now that's the best compliment I can give!

Portuguese cooking
I have yet to find a portuguese cook book that is truly authentic and sophisticated. This book could have been written by anyone. I don't believe he is a "true cook" - very dissapointing.

I just got this book and overall I am pleased with it. The pictures are very beautiful and focus mostly on traditional Portuguese themes. Sometimes, I think that some of the smaller pictures could have been made larger because they are rather dramatic; some of the larger pictures, I don't find that appealing.
The comments that accompany the recipes are very nice as well. My only complaints are that the book is missing some important recipes like "Cozido 'a Portuguesa" and the Portuguese titles contain many orthographic mistakes. I think that if the book had been properly reviewed before going to the press, these errors could have been prevented.
