Poser 7 is one of the most enjoyable applications for creating realistic animated 3-D characters. In Poser 7 Essential Training, instructor Larry Mitchell explains how to design, pose, and animate 3-D characters using the program s intuitive interface, tools, and workflow. The training covers everything from essential animation principles to working on the intricate details of individual body parts and complicated facial expressions. Larry also teaches the minute steps required to create characters that can lip-synch to recorded sound files. Advanced topics, such as incorporating HDRI lighting, animating to reference videos, and integrating Poser 7 and Vue 6, add to the full learning experience. Exercise files accompany the tutorials.
In 1994, while traveling to Tokyo, Japan to lecture to Japan s top 3 technical institutes on 3D animation and advanced virtual reality design, I began development on a process through which cartoons could be made without the need for drawing. This process is now available in most 3D applications as 'Cell Shading'. The white paper on this process was submitted to ACM SIGGRAPH's 1995 "Panels and Papers" by my development partner (Mitsuru Kaneko) and I.
I've animated, directed and produced 3D animation projects for commercial, international and TV network clients since 1985.
I'm deeply passionate about working in digital media production.
