This belt is very sturdy, easy to adjust and easy to use. We use this to assist in transferring my mother to and from the car along with a transfer board. She is semi-paralyzed and needs a full assist transfer to and from her wheelchair. She states the belt is non-binding and comfortable to her when we use it to assist in transfers.

I've had to use this for my husband and its really helpful - so long as you pull up using your knees but even using just your arms its a whole lot better than trying to do it with out.

This is a great gait belt. The loops around the back and sides come very handy to pick and hold grandpa. I recommend it.

After having a parent in a rehab facility at age 80 I noticed the staff wearing these "karate type belts". I watched how they transferred patients with them. Via bed,toilet, wheelchair.
Note to self:I need to have one of those when I take him home. Home health therapists came to the house for therapy and had a similar belt. They were always grabbing either the back of the patients clothes or using the belt and holding it from the back. So I did some research and found this belt with a quick release and handles. The handles are the BOMB when transferring. Once the therapists saw it I was given 2 thumbs up and asked where to purchase. Most important it gave my father piece of mind knowing they had a HOLD on him (200lbs) and not just a hand under a belt or clothing. This is great to have for anyone with a balance issue, at any age.
