READ THE BOOK;CHANGE YOUR LIFE,

Positive Directions is brilliantly simple. Ryder treats you with intelligence, a droll sense of humor; his absolute belief in his discoveries makes YOU believe. If you are impatient, as I was,you can jump around, choose from the the Master Keys; for ex. 7-The Flow and Exchange of Energy. Once I mastered it, if it was a day I didn't want to read or study, I could simply look at the chapter heading, and my day and attitude was improved. As I am a performer and acting coach, I'm describing emotional recall-one of the reasons I describe this book as brilliantly simple. In other words, take it one step at a time, use the excellent charts, and you will be working from your deliberate mind. If you think you've read all the "self -help" books you can stand, please realize that Positive Directions is in a class by itself.

TRIBUTE TO A TIMELY WORLD PSYCHOLOGY
POSITIVE DIRECTIONS by Dr. John Ryder is a really engaging read, devoted to developing successful change in our lives through eliminating stress and elevating happiness. I have concluded that his messages and methods work extremely well, as they have helped me immensely with my professional global endeavors. Located in Midtown Manhattan, I am a professor of world culture and communication, UN representative for world social development, and currently creator/chair of a special world conference Sophia 2010 Women and Wisdom to take place in Sofia, Bulgaria May 2010. Constantly, I encounter diverse communication dynamics of cultures that think and act based on polarities. It can be challenging and exhausting. I have applied his approach to understanding the complexity of polarities to my work,successfully reducing stress. Furthermore, I share his wisdom to help others, including my students, worldwide. As a professional who also helps people with human relationships, I realize that Dr. Ryder's vast education and extensive global experience have enabled him to integrate the best contributions Eastern and Western Civilizations have to offer to create a new world psychology. I recognize that he has addressed a quite complicated subject and explained it clearly for all of us to understand. He narrates moving anecdotes as examples to which we can all relate compassionately. His messages and methods provide insights and solutions to balance our own lives and to move freely forward on our life journeys. He profoundly believes that our ability to change is connected to using the golden keys he offers, that we actually all have in our hands, to unlock the prisons in our minds that harm and hold us from achieving our dreams and goals. I just started to read this book and what I learned in the third chapter about the triplex mind helped me so much to understand myself, my reactions to people and/or situations, that I already feel i got a tremendous amount from this book and I didn't even finish it yet! Everyday now I think twice before I say or do something, I try to use my deliberate mind, my higher self. it's a great read, you can learn so much about how the mind works, I'm loving it!

Stress is all in your head, so your head should be able to manage it, right? "Positive Directions: Shifting Polarities to Escape Stress and Increase Happiness" is a guide to positive thinking to help people increase their contentment in life simply by thinking much more positively and for the future. Saying that continued pessimism spreads to more aspects of life, and that many studies show that optimists live longer, "Positive Directions" is the positive vibe that many need to succeed in everyday life.

A Mix of Science and Experience,

I came to this book with the question in mind "Can anyone be happy all of the time?" Of course not, but Dr. John Ryder's book Positive Directions: Shifting Polarities to Escape Stress and Increase Happiness aims to show us how we can have more control over how we see the world, related to other people and manage our stress in our daily lives.
Dr. Ryder has produced what I would call a bit of a "hybrid" in his latest book. Hybrid you might ask? Yes, John Ryder has written this book not only out of his scientific and educational background as a Psychologist but also he draws out a good portion of this book from experience, intuition and out of common sense. This is the mix that he seems comfortable with and in using such a construct the book becomes more assessable for the lay reader and those who are looking to find more happiness in their own lives. A good example of this, Dr. Ryder uses the analogies of keys (positive tools) and locks (negativity) to show the different planes that we need to work on in order to relieve many of the problems and stresses that drown our happiness in our daily lives. This makes the text simpler to understand than it would have if he'd simply written this as a professional psychologist. At center of the book are the polarities that Dr. Ryder has named JEEP (judgment, emotion, energy and patterns). Each of these polarities has a positive and a negative side and have an effect on every facet of your life. So the trick is to learn where you would fit in relation to JEEP - just where are your weaknesses that cause you ultimately to not be as happy as you should? Throughout the rest of the book you are presented the keys to each of the locks that would tilt your polarity to the negative side and to transform into a more spiritual being. So it sounds a bit new agey? Well, I suppose some of it does come off this way but then again much it is in the presentation. At the end of the day I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to improve their outlook on life. It is possible that to get the most out of it one might ought to read the book slowly, one chapter at a time so that one has a chance to work on each point. Otherwise I recommend taking lots of personal notes - notes directly linking your own life to what is being covered in the book. You should get lots out of it that way. And become a happier spirit in the bargain as well!

Positive Directions seems to me to be more than a self help book, it is really more of a change your life guide and workbook. This book will do for your mind what the gym does for your body. Now, more than ever, we need to focus on the positive. All of the negative things being thrown at us every day can drag us down, with the economic turmoil raging around us and affecting us every day, now is the time to think positive and take positive action to rise above any negative or depressing feelings. John Ryder can help you deal with the stress we all have, overcome anxiety, make better and more positive decisions, and help you to become happier and more successful.

Skills needed for a better future,

Reading this book propelled me in a positive direction by the mere fact of gaining the understanding that you are not at the mercy of your biological make up, but you can learn and acquire skills necessary to create a life you want. The keys he describes really changed my perspective and gave me the motivation to become more responsible to make the changes I wanted in my life.

So many of the motivational materials on the market are about wish fulfillment and are of little substance. However, Dr. John Ryder gives the foundation upon which to build a more solid structure for the change you desire to grow to be a more positive, pro-active person. Dr. Ryder's book is more like an interesting and informative primer. Reading this is a place "to learn" how to live a more positive life, and easily apply the principles explained in the book. Here is the material you need to actually institute positive change and growth.
I really like the review sections at the end of each chapter. They give you simple thoughts to contemplate, and are easy to remember reminders of what you have learned before, so that your knowledge builds, very much like watching a brick-layer at work. The book progresses easily, giving it a well-organized flow. You are not overwhelmed with new information, until you have a good understanding of the process that needs to precede what comes next that is a little more complicated, but is not too difficult for anyone to understand. However, don't open this book in the middle or expect to thumb from section to section and know what is going on. Start at the beginning and take advantage of the lessons being taught, similar to attending a series of classes on a topic of interest and importance. You will not go wrong investing in the purchase price of this book, because it is investing in yourself and the change you need to make in order to live a more positive, active, satisfying and happier life.
